I retrofitted the alarm on my 2015 BMW F11 car but now I have a problem detecting the ECU, when I run ISTA it shows ECU FZD

But when I run esys the ECU FZD does not appear

attachment: error in ISTA

Can you provide a bit more information?

Did you change the FZD (A21) from a basic to a "high version"?

Did you install the alarm horn (H1) in the right rear bumper area?

Did you run the LIN Bus wire from the H1 to the FZD?

Did you code S145A option into your FA?

What does ISTA list as your error code for the FZD module?

No, I have installed Alarm System Retrofit

Did you install the alarm horn (H1) in the right rear bumper area?
No, I followed the instructions I attached for the installation

Did you run the LIN Bus wire from the H1 to the FZD?
I used the original cables that come with the retrofit

Did you code S145A option into your FA?
No, I code S302 in FA

What does ISTA list as your error code for the FZD module?
attached ISTA_ERROR
thanks

The diagram on page 9 of your installation manual doesn't look like your retrofitted alarm interfaces the FZD module, only the CAS.

This means your issue with the FZD in ISTA, is independent of your alarm wiring.

On page 13 of the installation manual, it does show removal of your FZD module to route your alarm wire to your rearview mirror.

I would recommend that if you did pull the FZD module, to remove it, and try to reseat all the connectors. It looks like the connector that has the bus wires isn't plugged all the way in.

hello M_Bimmer

I only had the opportunity today to remove the FDZ module and I verified that the A21*2B connector does not have the CAN wires that connect pins 9 and 10.

I will have to make this connection between connector A21*2B and connector A16*1B.

I retrofitted headliner antrazit and therefore I changed my FZD module with the one of the donor car. The donor car was equipped with alarm, mine not. Both have the SOS alarm. The plugs was identical, even though I didn’t check the single pins corredpondence. Now the FZD ECU isn’t visible in E-sys and in ISTA. All seems to work, apart the read lights both front and rear.
How can I solve this issue? Thank you

ghostrider1969 ....I'm going to make some assumptions since you did not provide any details about your vehicle.

1st assumption: It's newer than 2010/09+
2nd assumption: Your F10 is a sedan and not a GT model
3rd assumption: Your vanity mirror lights do NOT work
4th assumption: Your rain sensor does NOT work
5th assumption: Your sunroof does NOT work

So...What is the MFG date of the donor F10 that you took the SZL from?

1. The ambient lighting wiring pinout pre-2010/09 and post-2010/09 are completely different (which if you connected one for the other, expect a blown fuse, and maybe damage to your rear lighting, and the SZL itself)

2. Check for +12VDC on SZL A21*4B Pin 1

3. Check for +12VDC on SZL A21*4B Pin 4

4. Check for +12VDC on SZL A21*2B Pin 12

...1 or more of your fuses should be blown. I highly recommend you put the original one back into your car, then come back to the forum for help if you are trying to install an alarm.....which you will need more than just an upgraded SZL (High) unit.

Sorry M_BimmerI missed the basic info to explain my case.
My car was built 09/2011
It is a sedan (F10)
Vanity mirror lights work
The rain sensor seems work fine
My car isn’t equipped with sunroof.
My auto was equipped with SOS botton, bluetooth, USB, combox and teleservices.
The donor car was built 11/2010.
FZD of the donor car differ visually from the FZD I had in nothing. The donor F10 mounted alarm system. Both auto haven’t sunroof.

Hello,

Retrofitted alarm at BMW workshop to my F11 2013 but there is no acoustical when lock/unlock.
Workshop told me this is the right behavior and cannot be changed.
Any one has same experience?
