Blend door actuator motor

My f10 is blowing warm air on the driver’s side. I found the actuator motor on FCP but I’m having trouble finding videos regarding replacement of the motor. Has anyone here replaced theirs? If so any tips or links to any videos or tutorials would be appreciated.

If air is coming of the driver's vent, not sure I agree that the stratification motor needs replaced as you claim.

But, if you want to go to the trouble to do so, it will require the center console to be removed, so that you can completely remove your dashboard.

This is the only way to access the stratification motor on the left top air flap on the air distribution box that provides air directly to the left vent as shown where the red arrow is pointing to in the figure below. The flap motor is on the back side.

It might be easier to run ISTA on your vehicle to pull the codes for your IHKA. If this is too much trouble, providing us with a bit more information of the "issue" you are experiencing with your temperature controls. I could be convinced that a faulty heater valve (remains on even when it's supposed to be closed during A/C use), would allow heat to come out of the vents on the left side of the vehicle, except the center left vent if the thumb wheel is set to "cold" (blue).

BTW, the air flow through the air distribution box pushes air through the A/C evaporator 1st, then through the heater core, which has a left and a right coolant path, so that the heater valve controls independently, left and right.

A faulty heater valve is MUCH easier to replace than a stratification flap motor (what you are calling an actuator motor).

Thank you for this informative response. I’ll check to see if I have any codes. Also I recently upgraded my climate control panel to a newer ceramic panel. I wonder if switching panels had something to do with the warm air which was coming out of the driver’s side vents.

If you did indeed changed out the climate control panel, then did you?

1. Ensure that the buttons are exactly the same between the two units
2. Program the IHKA to your vehicle using ESYS
3. Ensure that the blue connector on the rear is completely locked in

Not sure the items above explain your heat-out-of-driver-side-vent-only issue....but here is an easier way to add ceramic knobs.

If you look at the rear of the control panel, there should be 8-10 very small Torx screws on the lower portion of the control panel. If you remove the back panel, carefully lift out the control board, unplug one of the knobs from the control board, and the other one just unmounts from pins, swap out the knobs, and reassemble.

What this does is keep your original firmware and control panel, but just swaps out the knobs to the black ceramic versions.

You can also do this to your rear HKA climate control module if you have 4-zone. The knobs are interchangeable.
