2011 535xi 165,000 mile update

Hey all, just giving an update on my 2011 535i x drive college mobile. in the last year she has been rather needy, but nothing that I find unwarranted given the miles of the car. In the time since the last update post I have replaced the front axles, lower control arms, tie rod end links, and water pump. As I am writing this it is in the shop also getting a new front and rear Guibo and carrier bearing. I replaced my spark plugs myself at give or take 160k. I have also had the AC recharged (just took a second to get cold and wanted it at factory level. I have also had to replace the brake pad wear sensors (the brakes were fine?). switched to Ravenol RUP 5W40, has been fantastic, also flushed all driveline fluids with the correct spec Ravenol fluids, their distributor has been very good to work with on getting fluids flown over from Germany if not currently stocked. the 535 has been an excellent car to drive and I've thoroughly enjoyed the last 55k miles. I will say buying a near 15 year old German car and living in Clemson SC has made maintenance/ repairs tricky. if you are planning on buying an older f10 and you live in the middle of nowhere, plan accordingly and make sure to fix stuff preventively, if something fails, no one wants to work on it.

also forgot to add, Installed new Continental Extreme Contact DWS06+ due to an impact bubble on my Pirelli Pzero AS+3 (DC Potholes :/ ) The continentals are a noticeably better tire. After comparing, the Pirelli had the car feeling more like a 7 series, the chassis was looser and tended to tramline more. The Continental is far more planted and dialed the car back in. If you are between the two, get the Conti
