Gentleman button retrofit.

Also bought some wheels for next summer, but I'll probably get them painted silver...

Style 214? I haven’t seen them in that bicolor finish. I’ve toyed with this look as well, and I think all silver would look good!

Buddy gave me his wheels and tires from his 550i because it’s getting scrapped, got myself a smoke tester and I passed the test! I also updated my ilevel software via enet and Ista! Went from 2015 to 2021 software!

4 tires. Trying out a set of some cheapo Lionharts based on a recommendation from a buddy running them on a 650 RWHP C6. Less than $500 for 4 tires, cant be bad right

Any noticable difference in the software update? I always wondered about this but I've also read that updating the software erases your tune, if you have one.

I noticed that the seats move a little bit faster and the seat warmers heat up faster, but the biggest difference is whenever I have cold starts the N55 doesn’t drop RPMs as much in it idles a lot better. I didn’t have to reflash My MHD tune, but I did have to refresh my XHP because the software update removes a lot of coding features.

New diffuser I bought myself for Christmas after a ton of research. This is probably the 4th or 5th I've tried but after lots and lots of research, I realized that there's a difference in M5 specific diffusers and 550 specific diffusers. I had no idea, they look the same in pictures....but they're not.

The M5 exhaust tips are more centered like they are on the other M series cars. The 550 tips angle outward so that's why I've always had fitment issues. 95% of listings say they fit 550 and M5s, which they technically do, but requires modification of the exhaust for the 550. I found one that said it was only compatible with the 550 and would not fit the M5. Perfect fit from day 1 no exhaust modification needed. Hope this helps someone one day.

Swapped out the cornering bulbs for LED ones from LASFIT! Ordered H7 6000k 1:1 size on Amazon. Pics of the install and required coding! One thing I would make sure you have is a 1/4 ratchet and 1/4 T20 bit. There are two T20 bolts that hold the bulb in. All you need to do is loosen them and twist the bulb to the left. Reinstall in reverse order.

Blackstone oil report came back on the 550. Don't be scared of the V8. I've had mine just over 3 years and done meticulous maintenance. It's been on a custom BM3 tune and stage 3 xhp for most of my ownership. Take care of your car and for the most part, it will take care of you.

It's always a happy day for me when I check my email and my Blackstone OA report is ready!

They'll do OA on your tranny oil too!

Bingo - No more condensation.
What thickness weather stripping did you use? I grabbed some off amazon that is 1/4" thick and there was no way I was getting the caps back on. Wondering if I need to find something that's 1/8" thick instead.

Next up: making the OEM ambient lighting brighter with some replacement LEDs
Lemme get the link for this kit because $7 is cheap!!

1/4" window weather stripping from Lowes. And yes, I had to mash the cap back down and twist.

Long story short: My condensation issues came back after 2-3 weeks. Twice I removed the headlamp assembly entirely, dried completely, and went at every possible mating point I could find with silicone. Both times it seemed to work after reassembly; however, again, after 2-3 weeks the condensation would return and gradually get worse.

Last week I installed a new headlight assembly. Condensation issue fixed. However, I have to go back at it one more time and install a new Xenon Headlight Control module as I let the issue persist for too long and fried the board. (Low Beams, High Beams, turn signals work. Adaptive lighting and DRLs do not)

Don't do what I did and wait too long, that board sits at the bottom of the headlight assembly and is very susceptible to the moisture.

Here you go! If I remember correctly I was was short a couple as this is a 10 pack and you need 12 (4 door lights, 2 footwell lights, 3 front dome lights, 3 rear dome lights). I replaced everything else except the rear dome lights, on those I only replaced the main light in the middle. Don't really use those anyways so it works out

The offer is MUCH appreciated! However, I've pulled the trigger and have a new one on the way.
