** 02/16/26: Title is wrong --> looking for 535i manual, not 335i manual **

Hi all -
My wife and I are looking for a sharp, reasonably priced and fun sedan, and after filtering through all makes and models over the past few years, have zeroed in on the F10 535i with manual transmission as just the right combo. Problem is, of course, these seem pretty hard to find - especially well cared-for.

I'm relatively new to this forum but have searched back into multiple years of posts about the F10 6MT to learn about issues, available cars, closed transactions, etc.

If anyone is aware of one that may be available, please keep me in mind (bonus points for proximity to the Northern California Bay Area)!

I just fixed it in the body but am not sure how to fix the title?

What is the accepted wisdom about buying a manual swap as opposed to a factory-installed manual? Anything in particular, beside confirming the installer has solid credentials?

I'm not seeing many F10 manuals available, and many of the ones that are manual are actually swaps. I don't want to step in something needlessly.
