5-Series GT Reviews start rolling in
Well the car that everyone loves to hate has hit the press circuit and the reviews are starting to roll in. I think I am more maliable then others, and I actually love the styling of the car and from photos the interior oozes high end luxury and quality. So I was sold instantly. The only thing I didn't like was the rear end, but not because I thought it was poorly styled, I just don't like the cross-over shape. But given the cross-over shape, I think BMW did a good job making it look as car like as possible. It came out far better then any other cross-over I can think of (look at the new Honda cross-over or the dreaded pontiac Aztek). Regardless, if you can ignore the rear-end I think the car is a world's away from the current 5-series range and has most definitly stepped things up a notch. If I had to buy a station-wagon, this car would be it, hands down, no question. Now the official press reviews are rolling in, and Autocar has a great review online. Whats most shocking is that they actually like it. I didn't believe that was going to happen only because I find that the press need a little time to "get it" when it comes to new BMW cars. But it seems like when people see it in person, and more importantly when they drive it, they end up really loving it. For the German speaking among us, AutoBild have also put up a review, although not as informative, they seem to really comment alot on the weight of the car, i'm hoping for a more indepth comparo review from AutoBild in the future. I will reserve my final judgement until I can get in behind the wheel! @ OP : i wouldn't expect a good article from audibild lol. I've seen so many biased audi vs bmw wins because of really stupid things such as cupholders or trunk space (it's an m3, who really looks at how big the trunk is ?!). They were faster in figures too, but they got same amount of points for those categories ... Just saying, i'm really careful when reading reviews from them concerning BMW oh and the giant 2 page audi-ad just behind the comparison article really didn't help either lol |

I think he was comparing the *shape* to the other 5 door crossovers on the market. Read the review or drive the car yourself before chiming in like this; the whole point of this post was there there is more to this car then the rear trunk. Kids these days... aren't that smart.

Finally! BMW has launched a vehicle so desperately needed to fill the gap between the X5, X6, and 5-series sport wagon.

I still think it looks like a Porsche Panamera, overall.
