Spyvideo: 2011 BMW 5-Series touring (F11)
The F10 sedan is due to bow its head in just another few weeks at the Geneva autshow and this F11 Wagon will then appear at the Paris autoshow later in the year, with availablity at dealerships in the summer/fall of 2010. Until then, enjoy some more spy video!

It may stick out, but that paint is intended to distort the look of the car so that you can't easily see the curves/angles and dimensions of the car. It's pretty clever camouflage compared to the wraps they used to use.

It's a pre-production model or test mule that they don't want the public to fully see just yet.

the act of making it look like they do actually attracts attention to the vehicle... 99% of joe public wouldn't know the new 5-series if it cut them off on motorway and yelled look at me look at me!!! just seems very self defeating! |

It drums up free publicity, so duh, they are going to slowly strip off the camo just as they do on the rest of their models... It seems as though every time they remove one small bit of it, a whole new plethora of pictures and video's show up. All at 100% $0 cost to BMW (AFAIK). What company wouldn't want free advertising?
