2010 NYIAS: 400+hp 2011 550i (F10) U.S. debut!
The 400+ horsepower twin-turbo V8 2011 550i (F10) (all details here) made its U.S. debut today at the 2010 NY Int'l Auto Show. It made its appearance in style by being driven into the spotlight during the press conference. Sophisto gray is a hard color to capture, but we think we've got some pretty good representations of it in our photos.

The back is gorgeous, but I just can't wrap my hands around the front of the car and those ugly grills. Long live the e39... but that engine sounds like a freaking beast.

thanks Jason for posting
Finally the debut; man that is awesome. I was waiting anxiously for this car. Did anyone notice the rear brakes on this car. THat tells me that this car is capable of doing some serious braking; even though the brake bias is more towards the front. I love the color, ehh on the wheels. I wonder what the price is going to be like. I wish they've deviated from those rectangular exhaust; just to be personalized, and not having similar characteristics to its oldest sister the 7 series. |

Thanks for the great photos! Love the overall design but those 19" sport rims look terrible. We actually have to pay more money for ugly rims?
Any chance of some interior shots of the 550? Does it pretty much mirror the 535? |

Very distinguished car - great engine and very interesting color. If I wanted to find an inconsequential detail to grumble about, I would complain about the rectangular exhaust tips, but, I do not want to.
