How does the M-Sport Version differ from the current performance options that are available in the USA? Are there real performance differences or is it just trim and color differences?

roger that pharding ... is everyone holding out for some aero panels? I don't believe the M-sport will entail any performance benefit. Will be strictly cosmetic and if it tries to make it look like I am driving an M then I would be really hesitant.

I want the cosmetics, like I had on the 2008 550i sport . I hope for aero panels, thicker perforated leasther steering wheel like on the 3 series M package, etc. |

No photos were allowed at the viewing but a full brochure is being prepared for the F11 ( and presumably for the F10) featuring both the SE and M-Sport cars. It will be available in July.

I dont believe there will be any suspension/performance differences that you cant get on the 550i (or 535 for that matter) without the M-sport.
What you will find in the M-sport is strictly cosmetic, I personally dont like anything M related on my non M 550, but the aero package which I am told is more subtle for the F10 might be nice, be interested in the $ on it. For US customers, the M-sport was never about performance, from what I am told, that will be the same across the board for F10's. I for one think they should leave the M cosmetics for the M, maybe a purist, I bought a 550 not a M3 or M5. I know I am probably in the minority, just as I think debadging is odd but thats a whole different topic and forum I suppose.

I spoke to my BMW dealer today & they confirmed that a communication has been posted on their internal messaging system which confirms that the F11 M Sport was indeed showcased at the BMW PGA tournament at Wentworth. It goes on to say that in the UK, further details will be available in July with 1st M Sport deliveries expected in September.

I like the cosmetic changes as do most UK driver, I read somewhere that around 50% of E60 and E92 in the UK have this package! Its a very important option for BMW UK and we like it.

I want to LOVE the look of the car, so in my circumstances and to my mind, holding out makes sense. I guess I'll see when they release the pictures presumably in July.

I test drove a 550 F10 today. IMO it needs a sport suspension as part of the M-Sport Package. The M-Sport Package should not be just a bunch of aesthetic stuff.

I have the M-Sport Package on my 08 550. What I like most about the M-Sport package is the M-Sport Suspension. I test drove the F10 550 yesterday with the Dynamic Handling Package and the Sport Aesthetic Package. Which is ridiculous for a BMW. Since when is a sport package on a BMW, just a bunch of aestheitc stuff? That approach is so American or Japanese.
The car corners really well as advertised. I went through the different modes Comfort, Normal, Sport, Sport+, and that is entertaining. Sport+ is just not robust enough in terms of a sport suspension. I prefer a more robust sport suspension than what the 550 now offers. Hopefully that will come to the US quicker than Year 4 of production as has been the case in years past with BMW North America. The F10 is a great car. However it really needs a M-Sport suspension option right away.

For US I dont believe you will find what your looking for, at least not for a few years. The M-sport package will be completely cosmetic, the options for handling that are available now will be standalone from the M-sport package. I am sure all the handling options will be a requirement for the M-sport so one will not be able to modify the appearance without the cost of all the separate performance options.
For me, I thought about it hard when I was told the M-sport wasnt going to be available on release and in the end I felt I just wanted the meat and potatoes, the fluff although sharp looking doesnt do anything for me when I am inside driving it and I really didnt want to spend what will probably be between 2-4000 USD for cosmetics on a car which I already find very sharp. I do look forward to the pictures and eventually seeing one, but from pictures I have seen the panels look very conservative which I think for those that get into the lowered look will be disappointing.

BTW you cannot mix M-Sport suspension with the other chassis options (VDC and Adatptive roll bars)

Does that mean that you cannot get the M-Sport Suspension with what is called the Dynamic Handling Package in the US?

Has anyone here driven an F10 with the M-Sport Suspension and one with the Dynamic Handling Option that can compare the two? Thanks.
