2011 535i - space for a spare tire?
Hi guys. I am looking at the 2011 535i for my wife, the only thing that stands between me and it is the run flat tires....my question to those with knowledge, is there a space under the trunk floor for a spare tire and jack kit?
Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks in advance. |

No, there is no space under the trunk floor for a spare. The only part of the trunk floor that pulls up is way at the rear of the car, and it's a small cubby hole. Definitely not big enough for any kind of tire. I can't even fit my laptop bag in there.
But the trunk itself is quite large. You could fit a spare tire in there and not eat up too much space. It just won't be under the floor of the trunk. |

Thanks for the reply....
I checked the euoropean spec catalogue and it says that RFTs come standard on some models but not the others...does this mean that there is a place for a spare tire under the trunk lining if you remove it? other wise those models with optional RFTs would have no spare...? can someone investigate this and let the forum know...if it is, it would be a great discovery and we can remove the lining and install spares... |

For models with non-RFT. Mobility kit will be provided and there will not be space for spare tire.

Well I remember reading somewhere that the battery is placed in different spots depending if it is RFT or not. So don't think there is any easy way to add/fit a spare tire in there like the non-rft models.
I'm going to swap my tires out to Michelin pilot sport ps2 once the weather gets colder and just gonna keep a mobility kit in the trunk. |
