Hi,
I am not sure how ethical to discuss the exact prices paid for your new F10 and the spec in an open forum. Can our experts say anything about it? Like follows... 530d - Sports Auto, Folding Mirrors, Active Steering, 18" wheels, Pro Nav £5,xxx deposit PCP 4 years £5xx a month Any thoughts? Last edited by joy5; 07-19-2010 at 09:05 AM.. |

My car bought in the UK is now fully immatriculated in Belgium. Here are the steps I followed : 1) Contact Park Lane in UK and ask for an offer for your car setup. 2) Once you have agreed on an offer you can proceed with the order and pay the 20 or 25% deposit. In my case I also bought the GBP (british pounds) for the deposit at the order and I bought the balance amount forward through my bank to avoid currency risk (it was no problem as this is sth I do on a regular basis for my business). 3) 3 weeks before delivery, I settled the GBP contract and paid the balance of the price 4) 2 weeks before delivery, convened a date for collecting the car and received from Park lane an invoice that I sent to my insurer to insure the car based on chassis number. Received 2 days after that green insurance card + insurance sticker for immatriculation. Also booked the train to from Brussels to Ashford station (Eurostar) and shuttle from Folkestone to Calais. 5) Collection : really smooth. Don't forget your insurance and ID card. Take Eurostar to Ashford then taxi to the garage. Your car is equiped with temporary UK plates. Collect the car and drive 18 km to Folkestone. Put the car on the shuttle and in 30 min you're in Calais. Then < 2 hours drive to Brussels. 6) Immatriculation in Belgium : Step 1 : customs. Bring original invoice, ceertificate of conformity, ID and in my case, my company statutes. In 30 min. I received an immatriculation form. Cost : 10 cents. Step 2 : go to Auto Control office for a simple stamp on your immatr. form. No cost. 5 min. needed as far as I was concerned. Step 3 : go to DIV for immatriculation (don't forget insurance sticker). As I was keeping my plates everything was arranged in 20 minutes. No cost. Step 4 : send back filled out form to UK customs to advise your car has been immatriculated in Belgium (you receive the form upon collecting the car, only need to confirm your new plate number) 7) VAT : my car was bought by my company so there was no need to pay the VAT in Belgium before going to the customs office. The VAT related to the car was simply introduced in my monthly declaration. Customs office only checked I had no liabilities with VAT adlinistration. As a private person the procedure may be different but I can't help you about that. That's it. Congrats for your new car and best of luck with the administration. |

The lower "Export prices" are apparently reserved for buyers who are living or working in the UK or outside their own country of residence for more than 3 months. How to fix this condition?
Your new 520d must be delivered now. Your experiences please from London Parklane to Belgium: Parklane to shipping point (plates, insurance, roll-on (ro-ro) on board roll-off (ro-ro) from Oostende or Zeebrugge to home (douane, DIV, plates, insurance ...) Shoud you do it again? |

Certainly.
Besides, collecting the car in the UK was great fun. For all your other questions check my last post (just before yours). You can also check pictures and additional info here http://f10.5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=433253 |

For the Caribbean
Hello to All;
I have just joined the forum and read some of the posts with great interest. I live in Trinidad, in the Caribbean. Our cars are Right Hand Drives. I want to purchase a 2011 5 series, but I have a few issues. I currently own a 2001 525i which I bought in Miami and brought to Trinidad. That car is LHD but I was able to bring that car into the country as a special concession. That concession is no longer available to me. I therefore have to buy a RHD car. I was thinking to try a "special order" from a dealer in the United States, but I have not made any progress. The dealers I have contacted have not taken my inquiries seriously. My main concern is that the base model available in Trinidad is the 523 and the options are limited and expensive. I feel that I will end up with an "inferior" car at the end of the day at too high a price. I guess my first question is: US or UK? Which is likely to give me the best options at the lowest price? Thanks guys. |

Hello
I am interested in buying a 2011 5 series. But it must be a Right Hand Drive. I would like to have a car with all US specs, but with the steering wheel on the right side. Do you think you could point me in the direction of a dealer who could make that happen? Or would it be better for me to try my luck in the UK? Thanks |

I did not have to ask for the speedo.
I asked for my car to be produced according to my country standards. Even on board manual was in my own language. There was no extra cost involved except the 900 pounds (which also cover temporary license plates, full tank, etc.) |

I did a similar thing in 1999 when i bought a new 318i SE from the netherlands. It was RHD and UK spec and i saved around £5k after paying VAT. The only difference was that it had a 2 year warranty rather than 3. |

I also bought from BMW Park Lane. The deposit (20%) was paid on 20/11/2010 and order and leave in a month. I have just been informed that the car will be produced in the sixth week of 2011 and will arrive in the UK the tenth week of 2011.
Compared to the Italian list will save about 10k Euros. Discount: 5% BMW 520d F10 Msport
