fwiw, I've debadged every car I've ever owned and I use a monofilament fishing line and Goo-Gone. After debadge, then buff and wax. If you ever debadge an old car, you can sometimes get a ghost image depending on the paint condition.
Only thing is you'll have all kinds of badges laying around that are useless since they can't really be used again very easily.... I give them to the neighborhood kids |

first time ever my salesman was asked to remove a badge... as Lacster said, true car folks will know what you have!

What about removing the airbag warnings on the visors?
I hate those big ugly warning labels on the visors and elsewhere? I have been able to peel them off from cars previously, but a recent car (my daughter's CR-V) had the stickers attached in such a way (maybe painted on) that I couldn't remove them with anything.

@Touring: Did you do a few laps there? I need to go there too, it´s been a while for me , 3 years or so, since I did some laps on the Ring.
And now I have this huge and heavy limo-boat, I think I´d better not. |

It would be nice to compare it with my 330 which I have about 350 laps with on the Ring. Im also a little sceptical about how the "limo-boat" will perform, but after seeing the M5 ring taxi drifting around with 5 people onboard I think our heavy tankers will do fine! With your 535 with high power and a perfect weight distribution you will become the lord of the Ring Last edited by Touring; 10-21-2010 at 04:45 AM.. |

Can't decide on the de badge issue. For now, the "x drive" on the side has to come off, without question. Looks like an advertisement, and simply too busy looking.

I like the Nurburgring sticker, and saw them all the time in Germany, but they aren't that popular in the U.S. because no one knows what it is. Better just to debadge and be done with it. BTW, the longer you wait to debadge the harder it is to get it off. My dealer wouldn't debadge a BMW even when I asked. I think they just didn't want to accept liability for scratches or anything.

Debadging has to be a popular enough demand in Germany that Model Logo omission/deletion is a no-cost factory option in your country. You are seeing this discussion mainly because north america does not offer such option by BMW. |

I've opted for the debadge purely because of the cleaner look. I'm fully aware that anyone who knows what they're looking for knows my car is a 520d and not a 535d. And anyone who doesn't know what they're looking for wouldn't care anyway. To suggest we're posers is a little harsh.
Re: the Nurburgring stickers. Now that I'm fairly sure is abused! Some of the cars around my way with the sticker would barely make it to the end of the road, never mind half way across Europe! In fact these ones make me chuckle... |

What we need is some stickers for US tracks. No, not NASCAR tracks, that would be silly to have a big O on the back of your car. But VIR, Mid-Ohio, Watkins Glen, those would be cool.
