I read a similar thread about de-badging in another forum a few years ago. An italian guy had put a Fiat Cinqueciento (500) badge with the word cinqueciento on the rear of his E60. Very funny!

In Singapore where "face" is very important, owners of F10 535i and 550i (I have yet to see one 550i here) will never debadge their cars since most of the F10 are 523i. The 535i or 550i badge gives them bragging rights. Instead of debadging, it is more common to find owners who rebadge from 523i to 535i but the tailpipes give these antics away. For thee E60, I have seen many 4-cylinder 520i bebadged to "save face" but the giveaway is the single rather than twin tailpipes.

(Your pretty fast replier) I changed my post right after posting because I believe "each his own" and was having a bad day, but, just because the option is available doesnt mean the majority take it. The culture in itself leans towards orderly concepts such as badging and the majority of cars here reflect that. I am not saying people dont choose, just whenever I pass or get passed by a BMW I almost always look as the arse end and most of the time I am not left guessing. After all, your talking about a country that has numbered and accounted for all 412,000 trees in the city of Berlin. Even the trees have numbered tags to identify. In the end, you paid for it you can do whatever makes that smile stretch a little further!

Most of the badges on cars are attached with automotive adhesive and easy to remove. But sometimes you just can't do it 100% without some big expense and effort. It's not about "pride" for me. I just like having zero advertisements on my car |

In time. I'm having the front mount painted, have ordered thin stainless polished frames with covers and am awaiting my new plates soni can then swap for the ones on my vw. For now the dealer frame will do. Their days are numbered though.

Super clean savela! some people say debadging is to fake what you don't have but anyone who knows the F10 knows the following dual tips of left side = 528i dual single tips = 535i and the tips like yours = 550i. Then you got people like me with quad tips that make people scratch their head |

As for the debadging, I can see the "cleaner" look theory but really its personal choice, I prefer the badging on my 08 535 and my new 550, never even considered removing them then or now. That dealer plate is ugly as sin though!

It's a 550. I like the look, not concerned about what others think, honestly. I know the dealer plates are ugly but the car is less than a week old and I can't see taking off the frame to replace it with a 'nice' one with a paper plate. Maybe I'm not vain enough but figured I would wait until my plates come in before ridding my car of that 'heinous' thing. I think your car looks great with the badges on. I part my hair on the right. You? Nope, it came that way. Quote:

Savela,
Can't you just take the white "dealers numbers info" background out and just keep the frame? Wouldn't that looks nicer and cleaner? Is it require by law that you have to have it on? I plan to just keep the license plate frame on only and get rid of any other info on the plate, when I receive my car.
