F11 leadtime in UK
Hello all,
Newbie to forum (& BMW shortly!) Just ordered 520d MSport F11 & am being quoted "end-March/beginning of April" = 12 weeks. Does that sound about right to anybody else who has either already gone through the process or is still waiting? Thanks in advance |

Yes.....ordered my F11 520d msport in mid Dec and was told late feb early march so around 12 weeks. I am happy to wait for new 11 reg but counting down the days. Unfortunately no way to track the order so relying on dealer feedback as to build dates etc.

Yes, placed my order 2nd week of Dec. 520d estate. Build commences end of this week and should arrive at my dealer c.20 Feb.
A week or so ago I enquired about switching to a saloon but the wait time for that is even longer I was told. |

Ordered my F11 in August and due to pick it up tomorrow, hopefully, although they've been saying 'it'll be here next week' since the end of November...
But, I did suffer some extra delays due to apparently there being a flood at the factory that makes the headlinings, and then an extra couple of weeks because of the snow. Sales guy promised me October delivery, which was obviously just BS to get me to place the order, then was told normally four month lead time, actually ended up around five. Hopefully yours will be quicker, mine was ordered pretty much as soon as they came out, its a 520d so there was high demand for that engine, and as mentioned above had extra delays. I've heard of some F10s with the right spec coming through in two months or less... |

I remember my dealer saying the touring was only available from end of Sept for ordering? - I ordered a F10 520 Auto in first week of sept and was here in first week of Nov.

Thanks everyone.
Hopefully it won't be too long after they've promised. Had test drive in mid-December & local dealer quoted end-Feb (11-12 weeks) - so it kind of makes sense. I'm in automotive supply (actually make parts for the F11!) so I know that they're working flat-out both on this model & the E84 (X1) (as are Mercedes on the E-Class).......more to do with Asia (& to a lesser extent Russia & Brazil) demand than either Europe or the US. This one is being sourced via contract hire company (my first experience of this) - will they be able to track the production etc via whichever UK dealer they use? Cheers |

The leasing companies I've used before dont seem to mind you speaking directly to the dealer when the order is placed. I'd be tempted to find out who they are sourcing the car from, and then chase them for updates yourself, rather than trying to do it through the lease company. After I started giving my dealer loads of grief for the car being so late, they started sending me screenshots from the BMW order system (an old text UNIX based system by the looks of it) which was quite interesting and gives you some useful information like the chassis number and VIN.

Bit of an update from dealer.
I ordered 7th Jan (week 1) & build-date is now confirmed week 12 (w/c 21/3). How long would it typically take from build to delivery? Thanks in advance! |

Not to alarm anyone, my F11 523i MSport took 3 weeks to get out of Thorne, October build, delivered 19th Jan. This was after a original agreed date of the 22nd Dec...

I have heard from several that there was a 2 week backlog around xmas time due to the weather- and this was further compounded with all the bank holidays etc.
Also build times were hit by a flood in the headlining factory - so they been playing catch-up on orders for a while as well. Lex Autolease were pretty good on their knowledge re the 5 - the girl on the phone said it was a huge seller for them given the emissions and how well specced the car is out of the factory.
