The OP probably has more to worry about in NYC than I do in the bucolic bowels of the deep South, but I'd suggest that he take a chill pill. Seriously, if someone wants to steal your car, they are going to take. The best solution is to make sure that your insurance is current and try to enjoy life without obsessing about things you can't change.
