New car detail - Step by step Guide
Hiya guys,
My new jet black f10 is due to land mid March, is a compnay car so dont want to be splashing out any more than its already costing me, but I would be very grateful if anyone could post me a step by step guide of the detailing process and some links on which products to buy. Ps - it really does need to be an idiots guide as my car wash process has practically always consisted of local car washes.. Thanks in advance! |

I'm going to use a quick detailer, a spray and wipe job ! Meguires do One called "quick detailer" in a small trigger bottle. You can get it in a 5 ltr bottle (dilute 1:1) with a spray gun on eBay! It is called last touch and it is the same stuff!!
I will also need advice on longterm care of paintwork! Less than 2 weeks to collection an road trip! |

Check the below link from the e90 forum. About half way through the post are detailed instructions on how to wash your car. When I got my 2007 335i, I found that thread.
Don't use quick detailer unless you just washed your car. You will end up dragging and dirt particles on your car across your paint marring your car. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=9145) |

My own wash method is:
1. Rinse with pressure washer 2. Presoak with foam lance 3. Rinse 4. Wash with grout sponge. I like meguiar's gold class or chemical guys wash and clear for soap. Wash then rinse in sections (half roof, trunk, hood, doors, etc) 5. Rinse with pressure washer hooked up to cr spotless deionized water filter 6. Blow dry with leaf blower. The blow drying will work substantially better if you have a sealant on the car. Make sure not to hit the paint with the tip of the leaf blower. Below is a link to a veteran member of Autopia's method. Enjoy! http://www.autopia.org/forum/guide-d...technique.html |
