Damm those clips were some hard bastards to crack. Seriously, couldnt get them loose without risking to break something.
Have to calm down now and try again tomorrow Btw the rear diffuser is also a real pain to get rid off, especially compared to my E92. They've buried the clips up and behind everything, like the towing hitch!

It took me a few tries too .. I think you have to follow the Lacster method -take the rubber and screws off to loosen the bumper and unclip from behind. I tried prying/yanking from the front and it couldn't do it that way..

thanks to the OP for this diy, i got the grills changed and black-out (vinyl) the silver winglets.
i also blacked out the front clearance light, not as good as color-matched being that my car is gray, but looks better than amber. |

I did this this evening right after delivery of my car. I had to use a T-30 screw driver. The diagrams you gave were a huge help and confidence builder. I found that if I got the top and side clips out the bottoms come pretty easy without having to get back in there. Pull evenly all the way around though, if it gets twisted the kidneys get hung up. When reattaching bumper make certain the screws are tight and everything lines back up. My first time screwing down I didn't get bumper to hood gap even all the way across. 20 minute job max! Thanks for the post!

Good write up Lacster
The part I don't get is how you pull the front bumper out. When I tried, I really couldn't get it to budge much. I have the M-sport bumper, but that shouldn't make a difference. |
