550/Dinan question...
I just picked up a 2011 550 - really starting to enjoy the car - my SA at BMW Seattle is pushing me to do the Dinan flash - 3k is a lot of $$, but seems reasonable for the gains - those 550 owners that have done the Dinan flash, I would like your feedback - is it a day/night difference from stock? When punching it from take-off, does all that torque cause a bunch of spin? Do you now need to invest in an LSD?
Thanks My proposed order of mods Dinan Springs/drop new wheels - possble M6 reps The blacked out grill and painted side markers are on their way to me....

I have the Dinan flash, RD springs, and the M6 replicas like you're planning on getting --- love all three. It is a night/day difference ---- lots and lots of torque. I haven't done a lot of full throttle runs, only a few since I've only around 3500 miles. When you turn the traction control off completely, there is very little wheel spin, but it is very fast. You really start to notice the Dinan after about 40mph when it REALLY starts to accelerate like a rocket. It seems much faster with the traction control completely off as opposed to sport+ mode, but the only thing is when you turn off the traction control completely, the adaptive drive goes back to normal --- it won't stay in sport or sport+mode. I got my Dinan back in April with the 20%, but it was still a lot of money, but well worth it.

Thanks Vinfast - I'm going for it - but, I'm going to baseline on a dyno prior to the flash and than have a dyno done post-flash...
That sucks about the adaptive drive/traction control - I wonder if Dinan will resolve soon? Do you recommend any dealers for the M6 reps?

If I were you I would consider waiting a month or two. My car is being used as a development vehicle for a new tune that will be very competitively priced and should outperform the Dinan tune.

Geting this shortly! 3 K not bad for the warranty. 495 hp 570 tq to the crank. Still pull it in the dealership for any sqeak rattle or roll. OR FUEL PUMP ANYTHING. Sounds like a good deal to me.
So lets say the competition is 1K with minimum additional power thats fine. Sounds reasonable to me this isnt a race car its a 550 DINAN
