New 528i, Looking for Exhaust and Intake please help!
Well pretty much what the topic says. I just purchased my new 2011 528I and wanted to order a few upgrades. Of course I was wanting to start with exhaust and intake, but i've searched everywhere and cant seem to find NOTHING at all. I did find a few people with custom exhaust but im looking for more of a bolt on type application. Anyone know of any products i made of over looked, or advice. Please let me know. I'd really apprieciate it. Thanks in advance. Rey

congrats on the new car, as far as intakes go there are only drop in filters available. I just put a K&N in mine as it was cheap and basically the only thing out there. I cant remember the other company but they had a foam filter style drop in. Both are under $80 USD so price wise its not bad at all.
As far as exhausts go...you have a few choices such as eisenmann, meisterschaft, supersprint, magnaflow, and custom ones from mufflershops. Eisenmann requires you to cut your existing piping and have a muffler shop weld it on and possibly cut your stock diffuser. As far as meisterschaft, supersprint, and magnaflow go they offer kits that bolt on from the cat back or downpipe back. |

Thanks alot for the info, great stuff. Did u notice any sound difference with changing out your filter, if any im sure its pretty minor just curious. As far as the exhaust, I wish I could find some videos or something to have for examples. I'm not looking for anything loud. I'm worried they will be to loud for my preference. Just want that nice aggressive tone when you get on it. Thanks again for the help

I didn't notice any sound difference at all but I swear the pull on my engine begins a split second earlier. Maybe it reduce the turbo lag by a couple hundred rpm. I won't know for sure until I get her on the dyno, hopefully I get my car back from the dealer tomorrow.
Then it's time to go bug Steve and Tom over at eas again, lol! |
