hey combatbmw, since you have the 2014 LCI with the sports displays, what does it read when you open it up. curious if the car's ecu can detect an increase in power, since it's topped at 480 because of the torque.

I didn't drive my 550 today so I can't recheck. But I'm pretty sure the needle maxs out for both tq and hp. But I'll recheck to confirm later.

Unchanged.. Still reads 445/480

I spoke to BR that sells this tune and they have told me only Enzo performance and AMS And Gintani have the master units that can custom tune on a dyno and just a flash file.
I recommend going to the nearest tuner for a dyno tune for most power.

I edited this info after i spoke to a few people and clarify my information from prior post.

Are Enzo and AMS the dealers for BR stuff? Id have to wonder if thats a biased opinion since they sell them, or a fact...

Everyone is reselling BR stuff under their name, master units are programmable custom, while slaves are preprogrammed for a flash.

Im not here to argue i never said not to use Gintani im basically saying that a custom tune needs to be done on a dyno.
Cali people can go to Gintani others around me Enzo for now and later other tuners.

I spoke to a friend that closely works with them he confirmed that they do legit Dyno tune when the car is in the shop, if you send out ECU you get flash from another car that was dyno tuned.

Dyno tune is always the way to go.
But not everyone will live in Cali/NY, so some people need to just get flashs.

Frankly i do care about 1/4 times because that's what i pay my hard earned money for.

I also care where people tune so they can get the best bang for their buck.

Br is not a competitor they are the tune provider they resell it and are located in Europe they have plenty of cars there including Asia.

Enzo and AMS are busy tuning M5 cars for now but soon will have a few 550 cars.

lets not forget Dinan had the 1st tunes for 550 and guess what they get destroyed by tunes that came out later. So being 1st does not always mean the best.

Just my "2 Canadian Cents", we all drive nice expensive cars, what we choose to do for tunes is up to the individual owners. Where people are located at times can cause limitations to what can or can not be tuned.

soon people will be fight about the colour of the car, saying one is faster then the next.

I think this is a great forum to bounce ideas and find out the next "best" thing for our cars.

Lets not lose members over the type of tune vs 1/4 times.

(I am a new member to this forum and a new BMW driver, i have learned a lot for everyone, and hopefully no one takes this the wrong way)
