Thanks Gspannu :-) Also would like the DVD to work while the car is in motion. Does making the angel eyes brightness to 100% make quite a noticeable difference? Dont mind travelling just let me know when you are free. Really appreciate your help!!

I suggest reading this forum post from the start; there are a few posts about what can be done. Also, there is a document here that you may refer.

DRL brightness in UK cars is normally already set to 100%, but if not, it can alway be set to 100%. The biggest change you will likely notice is that now only the rings are switched on in DRL mode rather than the main beams. I am presuming that you have halogen lights and not xenons...

Yes halogens which I find shocking when my last BMW 330d coupe e92 had xenon as standard. I've ordered a HID kit to be fitted on Saturday. I dont suppose you know anyone who has changed the whole headlight without it costing a arm and a leg? Also if i wanted folding mirrors would i need get new mirrors or just the motor?
Thanks Sat |

The LCI F10 (from July 2013) does have Xenons as standard even in the base 520. The 3 Series Coupe has always been a higher specced base car compared to the 3 series Saloon. Even today, the 4 Series (what used to be 3 series Coupe) is higher specced than the comparable 3 series. I have no idea about hardware mods (not into them)

The Angel Eyes in the F10 are LEDs; and these can be made brighter (if not already so). There is a coding parameter to change the value to 0x64 (or 100).

Hi all, I'm new here, I've just read this entire thread! Extremely educational, mainly thanks to amazing gspannu, who seems like an incredibly helpful bloke!
I'm brand new to BMWs, and have just bought a 2012 520d M Sport. So far, I like it quite a lot! I'd love to have a couple of things discussed in this thread coded into my car. One thing I'm not sure about, despite having read all the 18 pages of this thread. Do I need to have my own setup (cable, software, laptop) and I would need to bring that with me to gspannu (who I'm hoping will be willing to help me too) in order to get anything done, or is all that needed only if I want to try coding myself? I don't want to presume that gspannu would do everything for me with his own equipment, and it would be absolutely fine if I need to have my own stuff, I just wasn't clear on it, so I thought I'd ask clarification. I'm based in west London, so not too far away from Winchester/Basingstoke, and would obviously adapt to whenever it suits gspannu. Many thanks in advance! Vlad. |

Sorry, guys. Have been out of the loop of a while... tied up in work and travel.
izozzy: Apologies for not responding earlier. vladman: Will do whatever I can/know. You do not need any software/cable. I have all the necessary stuff. You just need to bring your car. Happy to host another coding day at Basingstoke (weekday evenings or weekend). Let's fix a common date/time.

I'm quite flexible, so if you can suggest some dates, lets see what the others say, and I'll try and fit in with what suits the majority. Vlad. |

Hi gspannu,
I'm a little too far North to come and visit but I'am for giving it a try myself. I haven't been able to track down the software. Would you mind PM'ing me any links you might have? |

Remind me in the next few days (once I'm back home) and I will send you the software links.

Few things that come to mind straight away... 1) Auto Start Stop - Disable or Remember Last Setting 2) Radio Switch off on Door Open 3) Acoustic Lock Sound (New Menu) 4) High Beam Assistant - Auto Switch on, no need to activate each time 5) Route Simulator in Nav Professional 6) Dipping Angle of Mirror during Reversing 7) Enable Temperature Monitoring of tyres (along with Pressure) 8) Enhanced Bluetooth - 2 telephones, etc... 9) Remember Seat heating, etc... from last used 10) Close Bootlid from button in driver side (default setting only opens boot) 11) Enable Rear Lights along with angel eyes (DayTime Running Lights) ..... that's what is from top of my head... Spoiler: The coding of each feature may or may not work on your car, depends on what ISTA/P version (or firmware version) your car has.
