Here's another that I bet most of you have never used, "Parked Car Ventilation". I am actually using it this week and it does help a bit after my black car, with black interior, bakes in the 98 degree Houston sun.

It is really useful in the southern California heat. I find it annoying that I have to turn it on each time to enable it.

Never use foglights HDD, I do use, I converted all the music from my iPod to MP3 format and uploaded it. Voice control from any manufacturer really sucks (as Jeremy Clarkson points out in nearly every car he drives) |

HDD
CD/DVD Voice Control Fog lights Connected Drive/apps/etc (can't). But, I do read incoming texts via voice playback. Passenger seats (although others use them a lot) Ski bag Pass through seats/trunk 350-400 hp Collision mitigation (thank god). Lane Deviation (annoying). Many more.... |

I've never hit the DSC/DTC button, not even once. In any BMW or any other car. I am not even curious to see how the car handles through the different stages.

one feature i stopped doing which i used religiously because i thought it was a "Yes! I'm that Cool" was when you approach your car and you press your button on the remote twice while it's in your pocket to get all the windows to roll down and the sun roof roll back. i heard a couple people say under their breath as they were walking by..."Typical!" the hell does that mean?!

Jealously... Even our '06 (started in '03) Lincoln LS does that.... They probably have it on their car and don't know it!! It's not like it's new technology or anything...

I don't use VC either. I also don't use the nav because google maps is so much better.
I use the vent car all the time. You can also set it from the BMW remote app (which I also use to lock the car when I think I forgot to lock it). If the car is in the shade it cools it a lot. I live around Austin so that might be different in Houston where the humidity is greater. |

Separate note: When I was checking this I discovered something else. My wife had just been on a trip. I asked her if she had liked the 'lane departure' feature that I had set before she left. I set it with my keyfob and it was 'on'. She said it wasn't 'on' so got her key and sure enough it wasn't 'on' with her key. Another one of the things in these cars that is key dependent. We both use 'blind spot' all the time so both keys were recording it.

Try setting a time.. Click on the time, set the hour then minute. That should open up the box to select that timer. |
