i'm 41 now, but i bought my 2014 550i a yr ago as a 40th bday present for myself, it was either that or a Rolex. I chose the 550i.
2nd bmw. 1st one was a 2003 540i that i bought when i was 31. I'm in Software Sales in Silicon Valley, Daily Driver is 2000 toyota camry with 280k miles on it, which i use when I'm driving around town for work, unless i'm taking clients out. also married with 2 kids (9 and 4). |

39 y/o IT professional. Married with 1 kid. I have a 70 mile commute and my 2014 is350 fsport was not comfortable for that drive. It was cramped up front. Got the 535d now and happy as can be.

Never understood the point of these threads.
I have owned many BMWs but then I have owned muscle cars, Volvo's and many Subarus. I have been blessed to drive very nice cars since I was 19. Every car I own or owned serves a purpose. Bought the F10 bec I have always liked its looks design and luxury. It replaced my 2015 Legacy. The switch was no brainier as the lease payments are super close in between the 2 cars based on the deal I got on F10. Probably will go back to Legacy as I don't care what I daily drive in Seattle's beyond messed up traffic.

More diversity (age, anyways) than I would have expected. 95% of the bmws I encounter on cape cod are driven by much older couples, minus the young kids with the riced out e36s / e46s

In regards to your 550i "better value" M5 comment, I instead like to tell people: "It's a much more comfortable M5." |

52 year old manufacturing company exec. Empty nester. Wife is a teacher, nearing retirement. We've owned 5 BMW's ( 3 sedan, 4 ragtop, 528, 3 coupe and F10 ) and my wife simply likes the F10 the best. She wanted comfort and refined minimalist luxury, I wanted modest performance and handling. Our compromise was the F10 535. It's her daily driver, and the car we usually use when we are both together. My daily is a Rover D2. Great runabout with great off road capability. I also own an F250. It's great having a truck for times when you just can't toss a couch in the back of a D2 or an F10. All three cars serve a distinct purpose for us, and each is in a particular niche. For all out fun driving, you cannot beat old school US muscle. My 428CJ XR7 Cougar ragtop. |

3rd Times a charm!
I'm 37 yr Male, married as a Navy Submariner in IT. My '13 550xi is my 3rd BMW (1st, '10 335i, 2nd '14 328i). I needed something with the luxury I wanted and power that I yearn for that I had with my 335i. Coincidently, my wife wants a Range Rover Evoque Sport. haha

Whoever said "BMW Starter Pack", you can peg me for sure. 37, Male, one 7 month old baby, married. The 528 demographic is pretty close too. I was 27 when I bought my E60 528. For the reasons of price point, luxury, fuel economy, "prestige".
I have a 550i M Sport now and consider myself a car enthusiast with a pragmatic edge. I have a marketing background and now work for various Private Equity deals as an operator (turnaround / sale). I own 4 cars, all preowned that are paid off with the exception of the F10. I prefer to have 4 preowned vs 2 brand new ones. The value is excellent on the luxury used car market if you know what you're looking for. I think I will continue to buy preowned and have zero qualms about it. Maybe some day I may spec out a new 911 as a milestone present. I buy cars and keep them, never lease. RE: F10 528 drivers... in Atlanta, the majority of them are leased. I don't think there is a black and white age demographic, but certainly in Atlanta, there are a lot of people who are luxury focused and 528 leases are pretty cheap. It's amazing how many F10s are around.

Ok. I'll chime in: 37, married, 2 kids, PhD in Microbiology, but currently working as a project leader in IT. Recently traded my '11 535i for a loaded '14 550i M-Sport. Absolutely love and always wanted that M-Sport package. Wife drives a '13 X3 35i, which we use on the weekend. I'd say that I am definitely a BMW enthusiast. I previously owned an E46 coupe for years and absolutely loved that car. The 550i reminds me how that car made me feel and then takes it a step further with the V8.
