Lools cleaner; if I wasnt listing my M3 for sale I would definitely debadge it just for a cleaner aesthetic.

Then again, I'm the type of person who prefers to have no logos whenever and wherever possible; clothes, car, etc. If I could debadge the BMW logo too without there being a recessed empty section for the roundel sitting there afterwards, I would.

Is that why some people have two 335i badges etc?

I had a friend with an E39 M5 that replaced the M5 badge with a 528i badge because it kept a lot of people from messing with him, and if he chose to mess with someone, they'd occasionally think a 528i was monstrously fast.

I debadge most of my cars. The M Coupe lost its badge, it seemed obvious. The 135i lost its for similar reasons. The X1 35i lost all of the goofy side badges, but kept the rear one as it looked a little too plain without it. The 328i has its because it's too boring to care.

Easier to clean and prefer the less cluttered look. Not a complicated concept.

I'll bite, I have a 335is, but removed all the badges from the sides and rear. One of the cool features was the shadow trim, black kidneys, and side mirrors. Yet they give it some chrome badges? Doesn't go with it at all. I want the badges on the car, but I won't have some tacky chrome conflicting with the black accents. It's all I want, but I don't believe I have much of an option.

I plan on debadging my 128i, but only because I think it looks cleaner and I have 3 stage intake, headers, exhaust and tune so it is quite a bit faster than a stock 128i and I feel it deserves to no longer be labelled as just a 128i.

Well in Germany the chance of your car getting keyed increases tremendously with these badges. There is too many extreme liberals or green peace activists there that just can't tolerate you drive around in a M760Li V12 beast.

Maybe another incentive to debadge might be that the car is modded to a point where the original model badge doesnt do it justice?

Love my 316.

I rebadged my car so people think I care about the environment.

Oh wait this thread post about debadging.

Sorry, carry-on.

I ordered both my current F10 and the G30 I have on order without rear badges.

I just think it looks better.

I've debadged every BMW I have owned, I prefer people not knowing how big my engine is

The m5 was great as only those with a bit of knowledge new it was a M5, to everyone else it was just a 5 series. I sold the M badges for £70 as back then you couldn't buy M badges from BMW unless you actually owned a M car

What is the purpose of the badge in the first place? To remind you of a marketing decision every day? Lol

This is a rather amusing discussion considering that (at least at one point, for certain BMWs) option 3DZ ENTFALL ZUSATZ-SCHRIFTZUG AUSSEN is a factory default for all US cars.

Anyway, here are 333 posts about debadging BMWs for anybody who's really interested in the topic.
