Eibach Pro Kit springs has a super ride, not bouncy and a perfect drop IMO. |

Another suspension upgrade to consider is wheels and tires. Ditching the runflats was good for a 7lbs weight reduction per corner. Buying some light weight wheels could push that weight savings up to nearly 15lbs. All of that weight savings makes it easier for your shocks and springs to absorb the bumps and keep your tires planted on the road.

ACS is most expensive of all brands I've seen for springs alone. That and hardly anyone appears to carry them:
https://www.vividracing.com/schnitze...150778527.html $741 compared to ~$300 ballpark for H&N or Dinan. Does ACS really perform that much better? |

I had my ACS springs installed by what I consider a very knowledgeable independent garage that not only specializes in BMWs, but successfully races them as well. I asked him the same question, and his answer was something like this: ACS springs are specifically tuned for BMWs, not only for ride and performance, but also to work well with the existing shocks and suspension. With my experience being only on ACS, I cannot compare to H&R or others, but I do find that the ride is better than OEM - it is just as smooth, but now more defined and more precise. I can take corners quicker and the apparent weight of the car seems to be somewhat reduced. Of note is that I also have the adaptive shocks and roll bars, and the ACS springs also seem to work very well with both of those systems too.
Because I can, here's a recent pic of my 535xi on ACS springs.

Might be the route for me in the future then. K&W coils and all other springs do too much of a drop for my taste since I'm concerned about going up driveways at some point :P

I like it too. That's what's so cool about carbon black. It really is a dark blue like you see here, and seems to change colour depending on lighting conditions. That photo is completely original - no photoshop or post-production magic on it at all.

I did not like the reduced H&R race spring height on my 535i as I would scrape and had to back into my drive/garage all the time. (Although it handled excellent with the M5 front sway and H&R rear sway + springs.) |
