Indeed, that was the most challenging part in my F10 as well, especially if using an ATM emulator and a quadlock extension yo not cut car’s harness.
Do you have more pictures with the g30 screen installation under the trim? Have you cut some parts?

All wires from emulator are connected to this, plus most connection

I am currently awaiting my unit. I ordered from Europe for substantially less than what some vendors charge.

Someone who has done this retrofit, can you confirm if the rear view camera resolution is improved at all? I don't know if on the NBT the quality of the picture is a camera limitation or if it's an NBT screen limitation.

If camera, I wonder how hard it would be to upgrade the camera to something with better resolution.

I'd still like to know the "round about" cost for this? I'd like the Apply Car play for my 2016 535 but $2700 doesnt seem worth it. Actually, $1000 doesnt seem worth it simply to be able to connect Car Play...

As far as your connected drive and other services, what did you lose out on? BMW apps still work? Send destinations to your phone, gps tracking, flash lights , remote lock / unlock still work?

If CarPlay is the only thing you're interested in, you can get a CarPlay MMI box (unichip, binmertech,....). Much less invasive and less expensive.
