This happened with my 135i when it was fairly new. They promised it would go away and not come back. They were right, it never came back.

when I read this post, I check mine as soon as possible. you know what happen? yes, there is water inside headlight after i drive at night. it always happens. i do not why, it always appears after driving. i am wondering, right now, do i need to report this to the dealer?. my car is like 6 months years old and now it has 2600 miles. both right and left are water inside headlight after i am driving at night. last but not least, i live in Seattle right now. it is around 15-20 degrees celcius at noon and below 15 degrees celcius at night.

Wow, that sucks. Don't let a dealer tell you that "it will go away". Water inside a headlight is a quick way to speed up the process of a headlight losing its sharp clarity, i.e getting "yellowy" and fuzzy over time.
I had a Chevy Malibu that had this issue and GM replaced both headlights. It would be insanely unacceptable if BMW did anything but. |

You should have the dealer look at it so it will be on record.
Mine was never replaced and simply took about couple of months for the mist/moisture never re-appeared. Quote:

There is no conceivable way I would have been able to do it myself - it's a sealed unit and was on the lens, not the lightbulb.

Many say this is normal.
I think maybe it is normal, my car headlights is 6 months old now and it has never come back. This has also happened to some of the HK F30 members too and after a few months of driving it had gone and never came back. |

i just sent the dealer the information about the foggy headlight. Right now, I am still waiting for their opinion about this headlights. Since the headlight just got changed yesterday, I am really suprised about this. if they ask me to use my car for months again, I can accept that and if it does not have any change at all. i will ask them to change the headlight again. this problem happens to F30? woww, is something wrong with bmw?

This is happening on my new 14 M5 with the LEDs too. Not as bad as the OP though.

I had the same issue with my 528i LCI. I refused to take delivery until they agreed to change out the lights. They placed the order for the replacements before I signed the paperwork. Two days later, they dried up and never fogged up again. After a lot of reading and according to the owners manual, I figured that this was normal. A month later, the replacements came in, and the dealership replaced them anyway. When I went to pick up the car, the new ones were fogged worse than the originals. I wish that I had never gotten them changed now. The new housings dried up overnight, but I don't think that the new lights were adjusted correctly, because the driver side daytime running light seems to be much brighter than the passenger side (a friend noticed in the rearview mirror when I was following). I'll have them re-adjusted at my next service interval. It's frustrating because when you spend this much money on a vehicle, you expect near perfection (at least I do)...
