Finished cleaning up all the mess from the Santa Ana winds. Today is cloudy and 60°F right now with a high forecasted to be 62. A partially cloudy day and then some sunny days ahead in the mid 70s.

Winter is making an encore appearance here. Not awful, but low 40's with gusty winds is a bit of a shock after the great weather we had been enjoying. Low tonight is supposed to be 25F. Brr.

Still getting small amounts of white stuff falling. It's actually big flakes as I type this... Tomorrow overnight is supposed to get down to -14C (7F).

Was a slippery drive in this morning where the salt trucks didn't reach. Glad I didn't join the summer tire gang quite yet. Insurance companies here say April 1 at the earliest I believe.

They aren't mandatory here like in Quebec (need to be on until March 15). But the insurance people would likely find some kind of reason to not pay out in the event of an accident without them on, if claimed to be using them. I guess it varies according to your policy.

Low-to-mid 20s are forecast tonight. If that happens, the early-blooming magnolia and cherry trees (which are spectacular right now) are going to get hit.

Spring weather is so variable here that some of the plants that are better-suited further to the south of us don't always hold up so well.
