If anyone gets a lead on some G30 calipers 374 ones lmk. Been searching for a bit now and everything I've found is close to $1k for a pair. I plan to coat and rebuild them so a good core set under say $5-600 ish would be awesome. Feel free to pm me directly any links or contacts for any you find. Thanks ladies and lads

Look for G11/G12 374 calipers. They’re the same unit without the flashy paint job. If you’re going to repaint them anyway there’s no point paying big bucks for the factory M calipers from a 5 Series.

Yep, found some Canadian ones for less than $400 for the pair in good lower mileage condition. Couldn't pass up the deal. Should be able to get 395/405mm setup cheaper than the 374 option if the other parts work out. So why not lol

Any brake pads that don’t produce as much dust that you guys recommend for the g12 374 calipers?

I’m using Dynamic Friction 5000 Advanced Low Metallic. This was one of the only pads I could find at the time which fit both the front G11 750 and rear F10 M5/550 calipers I’m using.
They are very low dust, but also low bite. They work, for sure, but require a bit more pedal force than I’d like. This does mean they’re very easy to modulate and don’t grab more than expected. Pros and cons. In cold weather with a little rust on the rotors from sitting overnight, they squeal like CRAZY backing out of the driveway. They’re fine once moving forward, just loud when first setting off in reverse. All race car brakes are noisy when cold though, right? Lol |

I wouldn’t buy them again. I’m trying to save someone else from finding out the same things the hard way, lol. I would put up with a little dust if it meant a little more bite and less noise.
I wish Bosch made their Quiet Cast ceramic pads to fit these applications. I put them on my wife’s E90 and they’re working very well. Very low dust, decent bite, and only a small squeak now and then under the same conditions that mine are waking the neighbors. They’re the only ceramic pad I’ve used that I really like. I used the Bosch blue ceramics on my stock 535 brakes when I bought the car and they were ok, but nothing special. I should also note I tried the Dynamic Friction 5000 Euro Ceramics when I first upgraded my brakes to the G11 750/F01 760, and they had very little bite. The 5000 Low Metalics I’m currently using are better, but still not great as noted above. I hope all this rambling helps someone! 🤪 |

The calipers you got from him was from a fire car. I’m guessing it’s not too bad of a shape? |

Yea your right I miswrote. G05 calipers. But either way the larger 395 4 piston ones. And idk if the ones I got where in a fire. They show zero fire damage and clean up easily. All seals, even rubber bleeder caps are intact. If it was a fire car these came from it wasn't the front.

Is that the 400mm M5 disk? Looks like the G pad is quite a bit taller and may overlap the friction surface. Not sure that matters, but you’ll want to be sure the pistons are relatively in the middle of the rotor surface or you may end up with taper wear on the pads.
Looks AWESOME!!! |

Yes that's the M5 disk. Caliper is just dropped on there so obviously it'll bolt in slightly higher off the rotor. But people have said this setup may need the bottom of the pads trimmed a few mm. Not a big deal for the death wheel
