Just learned today that my car is on a ship since Dec.4, 2006. I called my sales 2 days ago. He told me that he doesn't have any information about which ship the car is on. So, today I called the BMW 800#. They told me that your car has been on the sea since Dec. 4, 2006. WTF!? Thus, called back my dealer and my salesman had the day off. Finally, I got another sales check the dealer system. And, she said the ship will be here on Dec. 27, 2006. However, she couldn't tell me the ship's name.
From port Bremerhaven's schedule, it should be on Tagus ship. |

Not sure why your dealer couldn't tell you the ship's name. My dealer told me even before mine was on the ship! Good luck.

Scheduled for production - est complete 1/5
Same here... My 335 is "scheduled for production" per OC and "in production" per the phone with an estimated completion of 1/5. Mine is also headed to the west coast. Hopefully we'll end up on the next NYK boat, which I think I read somewhere that there's one leaving bremerhaven around the end of January.

The 800 # is is a day or so behind through manufacturing, and OC is a couple days behind that.
Once the car gets to the port, both are several days behind. When I called my dealer, they told me that the car was at the port, there was a backlog of cars due to the Christmas, and the car wouldn't ship until next week. I tried poking my VIN into the Wallenius-Wilhelmsen tracking site the next day and discovered that the car had already been loaded and was enroute to it first stop (Antwerp). Dunno if the guy was just giving me a line to get rid of me (it was not my sales guy) or if he really didn't know.

My E90 was completed on 3rd Jan and is "awaiting transport" to the West Coast and eventually Denver. Does anyone have an idea as to what ship it will be on and/or will the dealer have that info? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Tha Crazy Canuck 328i/black on black/auto/sports/power & heated seats |

Waiting transport too....
My 335 finished production on Friday and got to Bremerhaven today. The 800# says "Your vehicle was released to a carrier and is awaiting transportation at the port of exit." Yesterday it said it was completed and in transit to the port of exit. I guess the train from Munich to Bremerhaven must be pretty quick.
It kinda sucks that west coast gets put on NYK instead of WW. I wonder why BMW uses different carriers? When I got my M3 in 2002, it was shipped on WW. Hopefully I'll make the SIRIUS LEADER which leaves 1/24 and arrives in San Diego on 2/16. Sucks that I gotta wait almost two weeks for an NYK boat when WW boats are leaving (and sail to San Diego too!) almost every 2-3 days. |

Thanks for the info. I can't believe my car will sit there for three weeks waiting for a ship! I though I may take possession by the beginning of Feb, but I guess that won't be happening. CC |

I have figure out that the 1-800 number updates itself around 2AM pacific time, as this is the time I've called before and heard the first of different stages.
I guess my pattern seems to be a bit different than everyone else... on 1/9/07..I called and was told it was in the Paint Shop with finished production date of 1/11/07 on 1/10/07..I called and was told it was on the way to port of exit I guess they got a day ahead of schedule? Hopefully they didn't leave any part(s) off, hehe |

Status somtimes skips around on 800#
Depending on when you call and when the status changes, you may miss some messages completely. I never heard the 800# say "production completed" Instead it skipped from "your car is in the paint shop with an ETC of..." on Thursday night, then Friday it became "your order has been released to a carrier and awaiting transportation to the port of exit".
Who knows? Maybe one day it'll be as easy as tracking a package is on Fedex....

Options
The beginning of the post said that the options won't appear on OC website, but some of them do and some don't. As my status just changed to preparing for production, not sure if I should have the dealer call to check that all the options I ordered are included.
Anyone have any clue if I need to make a change? |

I just called and it is still at the port of exit. And I also ponder that when the date is given...ie: "Your car will complete production on xx-xx-07, is the time frame east coast or western time. I have officially become obsessed and call the 1-800 number 3-5 times a day |
