Back to the regular grind. Our staff is back from their rotating vacation periods and our summer students are gone back to university for their last year.

Decent heading offshore, but soon thunderstorms and associated squalls blew in that made for rough conditions, saw great birds though (including new for Humboldt, a Least Storm Petrel), and all got cherry looks at Brown Booby, Arctic Tern, South Polar Skua, albatross, shearwaters many more including King Eider.

Same here – it's been mild the past week with dry air, lows in the 50s, and highs in the mid-70s.

The long-term forecast starting tomorrow is that we'll be back in the 80s and 90s until the third week of September. I'm hoping for dewpoints below 70 during that period.
