Yea, I wont lie there are times I question my sanity for spending so much for something that spends a lot of time in the garage. Some could easily argue that there are human beings that live worse then my car does in its cushy life.
However, for me, when I ran the numbers the difference between the 535 and 550 seem negligible in the end and went for it. Problem is, every car I sit in is now feels, for a lack of better words, like a turd.

Test drove 550i and 535i. Felt pretty much the same at low speeds. Very slight edge for th 50, but the fuel consumption played a role and wasn't worth the extra cost. So I got a loaded 535i instead.
I did a euro delivery and felt the 550i probably would've been more fun to drive at the higher speeds, since there was a lag going from 120 to 160 on the autobahn with th 35. But considering I live in the US, I'll rarely get a chance to pass 120. So it's perfect. |

Agree, quite frankly I could never own this car in the States, I wouldnt even want it to be honest, speed limit of 65 I can ride my bicycle that fast down a good hill hahaha. Sometimes I drive 65mph and its like sticking pins under my fingernail, doesnt feel good at all.

My speed record was 1:14 minutes from Nuremberg to Munich, and that was in a Mercedes C-Class. I'd love to see what my 550 could have done on the A9. As far as having the 550 in the states, yes are speeds are very limited, but there still are stretches of road you can have a lot of fun with. |

Have you considered remapping - you get the performance of the 535D for less than £500. I had my 530 E60 chipped and brought it to a whisker of the outputs on the bigger engine

I have a 550i. I should have chosen a 580i. You can never have too much horsepower.

Want to live in Germany

The only change I would make, and it was not possible, is waited 2 more months and ordered the M-sport (I had it on my E60), but I wanted to take my 15yo son with me to Germany and missing 3 weeks of school was not an option. From an options standpoint, I would probably suck it up and order the active cruise control (I do a lot of freeway driving and I dont like cruise control, but this would have been a behavior changer), would have tried to get all the cameras, I ordered the back camera but I think the front and side became available just before my build date, but I didnt pull the trigger, finally, I would have gotten the convenience package, subtle differences with that package with the trunk interior, that would leave only one package I did not choose, the ventilated seat package. Other than that, the car is awesome, incredible power although I will never get it up to the 140's mph here in the states. The cabin and electronics are such an improvement over the E60, I will say, I kinda miss the styling of the E60, it was muscular and sporty at the same time.

I love my Jet Black 550 M-sport over my 08 550 M-sport except for the light steering feel, lack of side bolsters, and the softer and higher suspension (I've lowered it thankfully). I wish there was a way to keep the adaptive drive in Sport Mode. I've noticed it always goes back to Normal after shutoff, but if you select Comfort Mode, it stays after shutoff. That just makes no sense. Who owns a BMW and wants to keep it in Comfort Mode?
The exterior and interior styling and electronics have vastly improved. I can't wait to get the Dinan software upgrade next month and add 100 more horses and 100 more lbs/ft. of torque. It's going to scream!!!!!! The engine is incredibly strong. I just wish I could hear it rumble a little more while driving --- it seems a little too muted like a Lexus. |

I love my car too. I just want to drive it every day. My 535xi has enough power for me & I can live with the mileage I get. I know the MB drivers are all looking at me....LOL !

seven months into it, and it's still showing engine problems that cause acceleration delay and jerking. It's turining into a real safety issue for me. |

My 550i M Sport has covered 2500 miles now average MPG is 28MPG (UK) this is fantastic for the performance. I can't wait to see the new M5 with M-DCT.

Having had E61 535d MS, I would have always felt I really wanted another 535d had I gone for 530d.
Likewise, if I went for 550, I would have always felt "what I really wanted was an M5". |

Previously owner of a 525D f10. Not enough space so i've switched it to a 535D f11.
Still waiting for the 535d. Will be delivered in late June / early July. F10 colour was sophisto grey, F11 will be Black Sapphire. Still automatic, but now sports. |

I love my current 535i dark graphite with oyster/black interior.
Everything is good and the only things I might get are M-sport and the convenience package. |

No regrets here. I am very happy with my 2011 Carbon Black F10 550i M-Sport with black leather interior. An exactly equipped 2011 F10 535 was $3,650 less invoice difference at the time of my purchase. I think this extra money was well worth it. I got it on 12/4/10 and have about 3050 miles. Great car |

No regrets here. I've driven 12-cyl and 8-cyl vehicles the past couple of years. I think the 535xi just has more than enough power for me. Only things I wish I had in this car are the blind spot assist, soft closers and trunk closer.

Very interesting to see, that with 66 posts, most people before they bought, did their homework, decided what they wanted, and are generally happy with their F10 purchase (or lease), either a 528, 530, 535, or 550.
