ghueser, many thanks for the info. Other than the usual device options and MAP option on the Blackberry Torch, I couldn't figure out why the OFFICE function cannot be activated on my ride. Perhaps it's a country specific problem and I may have to consult the dealer as to if they could ascertain.
Cheers

Just to add to the confusion - I no longer see the contact pictures. I used to, but not anymore. I tried resettinig the phone, deleting the bluetooth pairing on both the iDrive and the phone (BB Torch/9800) and re-pairing the two but nothing seems to bring the pictures back.

I have a Blackberry Torch (Carrier is AT&T) and I can get text messages but no Emails on my F10. I can stream audio via Bluetooth, and get system and SMS Text messages, but NO EMAIL. I dont have the Navigation system option, but not sure if necessary. All boxes (Office) ticked on BMW and on Blackberry Torch. I've also rebooted phone, unpaired/paired with car, etc.. Any ideas?

I tried my B 9780 in a different 535i X Msport and it synced immediately for everything without issue. Clearly this then is a car specific issue and the dealer will be having a look and a system reboot to do to try and fix.

As a side note I can see the rationale behind storing the contacts in the car as no matter what phone is paired at the time those contact numbers are available, but like the media stored to the hard drive, the level of quality and robustness of the media is compromised. Bill

Only just found this thread and it works fine with my Blackberry Crve 9300 and my 2012 F11.
Office used to have just contacts and messages (e mails and texts). It now adds Calendar, Tasks and Reminders. Works flawlessly just takes a bit of time for the first sync depending on how many appointments you have. When driving it will show the times and appointment title, it won't let you delve into the detail of the appointment if there are notes in the actual appointment (a bit like the e mail will only show the e mail header whilst moving) but if you are stationary, you can view all the detail. Also, as a UK member it costs £15 rather than $15 dollars. It does seem that Apple ad RIM (as well as others) believe it should be a 1:1 £:$ relationship..... Works though and that is what counts. |
