I have a 2015 M-Sport loaded with every feature. I agree the Led headlights are weak and pint too low. I also have a Mercedes GLC and those headlights are superior. I find myself using the HB even in oncoming traffic because on dark country roads the lights do not project far enough ahead, Definitely a design weakness in this model.

2015 F10 LED headlights are the worst
i agree. Have a 2015 M-Sport loaded. Many things I enjoy about this car. The headlights are my biggest complaint - I find myself using HB's on dark country roads even with oncoming traffic because the headlights do not project far enough ahead and not bright enough. i have yet to have an oncoming car flash HB back at me confirming the weakness.
This is a real miss on the part of BMW design engineers - not expected. |

I was sure the VLD didn't work because I didn't notice the side to side "test" on the garage door. I was checking one of our security camera videos when the car was in the driveway and I started it. The driveway has a slight downward slope and when I started the car the lights did their initializing dance. The lights DID do a outside-in and up-down movement. The outside-in is VERY slight and barely noticeable. Had I not seen the video of the lights shining on the dark street I don't think I would have noticed.

I was paying attention to my lights & realized that I don't have VLD coded in.
How do you do it with BimmerCode? I have the app, but haven't tried Expert Mode with it.

The coding is in expert mode, I just don't remember the specific coding. I do know it's here somewhere; probably the coding forum.

Here's a video showing VLD @ startup...the "adaptive" headlights dip then rises while the drivers side light (left) moves horizontally to the left which indicates that VLD (variable light distribution) is enabled.
