After last month debacle of not call state of emergency our Governor followed to lead of all the other states in the region and declared one. Calling for high winds and 12-18 inches of snow.

Friday night was 4 inches of wet heavy snow. I just don't have anywhere to put it. My snow banks are 4-5 high and my tractor's plow does not go high enough to knock them out

Forecast for where I was recently in RI is 18-25” of snow with 75 mph wind gusts. Glad I’m back in FL, even with our 40+ degree expected drop in temps from today’s high to Monday’s low.

Freakin snow. I am over this shit. lol. Not sure how my daughter's school is on a 2 hour delay?! Roads have been perfectly cleared, dry for the past few hours.

I swear, once my daughter is in college, the wife and I will be moving somewhere south to warmer temps and be able to golf year round!

It's an Ohio thing, Ohio law shifted from "days" to "hours" in 2014, requiring 910-1,001 hours of instruction annually. A 2-hour delay allows a school to still count that day as a full instructional day, avoiding the need to make up the time later.

We currently have the same thing in our neck of the woods this morning, mostly in the more rural areas. Roads are a bit snow covered, but nothing to extreme.

We live on the eastside of Cincinnati. About 15mins from downtown. Roads are perfectly fine. I think the school district is just scared. When the wife an I were in Napa a few weeks ago, there was a snow storm over night with about 3 inches that fell, and they still had school on time. Was a lot colder then too than it is now. So the inconsistencies are pretty bad.

Just tired of it all.

Snow is supposed to end about 4pm est here and I doubt we will have more than 8 inch's. it's just been too warm vs last storm happening during the arctic blast. It's made for a wet heavier snow fall and fortunately my tractor has not had any issues with it. The winds have been strong gusts to 55 knots recorded over at local ANG Base.

Supposed to be in the 60s by this Saturday. Was hoping to play a quick 9 holes that day as it's supposed to be sunny blue skies. Rain on Thursday to hopefully wash away all of the salt / snow. I think this is the last stretch of cold as I am looking at the 10 day forecast...holding steady around 50s and 60s.

Just riding the rollercoaster of weather in the South. Last month, we had a winter storm then nearly seventy degrees followed by this cold front and back in the sixties later in the week. We're lucky, the weather is much worse in the Northeast so I won't complain. Be safe out there everyone.

Rain has appeared to have stopped and there was a high of 13C today making it ideal to sort out a lot of things stored in the garage.

I'm hearing bad things about this Nor'eastern in US especially in New York.

I'm getting t-shirts printed up... "I survived the Blizzard of '26". Providence RI set a record..32.8 " .. and they may still get a few more inches. I got 8" or so.. tough to measure with all the blowing..

More like the "Blizzard" of 2026 here in the Hudson Valley/Catskills region of NY. We've had maybe 7 inches of snow, with the highest wind gust of only 13 MPH on my anemometer.

Everyone be careful shoveling out there, as what fell here is heavy, wet, heart attack snow.....

Wow. I was 10 years old in Providence for the Blizzard of ‘78 and it’s hard to fathom more snow than that.

One thing that stood out in 1978 was how it was a surprise to a lot of people. My mom and grandparents got stranded and there were cars stranded all over. My great uncle was left to care for me and I don’t know how long that lasted or how long we were out of school, but I was pretty happy about it back then.

At least in 2026 there was plenty of warning and we now have the internet and phones that connect to the internet. Hopefully most people other than first responders, medical / care providers and road crews stayed home.

Yes. I see pictures of the abandoned cars on I90 in Boston (1978).. Much better notice and preparedness today..

It is actually a meteorological term used in places where it snows, because heart attacks happen more frequently shoveling heavy, wet snow versus fluffy/powdery snow.....

Someone's cardiologist (not mine) said if you can't run a 6K race, you shouldn't be shoveling.. I'm 66.. I Could not run a 6K race when I was 26. I'm still shoveling.

Happened all the time, about 26 years ago on a Saturday, we had a heavy wet dump of snow, after cleaning the front steps I told my wife that people will dies shovelling snow.

Comes Monday morning at work, find out that a co-worker friend of mine died of a heart attack while cranking a snowblower that would not start...

RIP Bob.

I was in Korea at the time. But my Dad got stuck at work for days. His car was parked at a corner of the huge building where he worked and the wind swirling around that corner left his car untouched by snow. He shoveled out a path to his car and slept in it during the day when the sun was warming it.
