Finally back home. Left Vegas at around 7am this morning. Feels so good to sleep in your own bed after being gone for a few nights.
Funny thing happened last night while I was out with the guys, I accidentally sent my wife the pic of the girl that i took the selfie with and let's just say she wasn't thrilled... so when I got back home this morning she asked to see my pics but good thing they were all erased from both the camera and my phone The things I do for my fellow bimmerpost members |

I've been going since 2004, not as a spectator but to work. The truth is, SEMA has a little bit of something for EVERYONE. The aftermarket industry is gigantic. You want hot rods? There are plenty of hot rods. Exotics? Plenty of that too. Stance nation? Got it. BMWs only? Lots of that. Basically, every "car" you see at SEMA has to have some sort of "sponsorship" behind it. As in whoever built the car, built it with some SEMA member/exhibitor's parts and blessing. Cars in the booths, of course, come at a premium (since booth spaces are limited). Cars parked outside cost $500 and change out of an exhibitor's pocket. There are themes that emerge occasionally. Like 2016 is the year of trucks. There's an extraordinary amount of trucks parked outside compared to years past. 2015 was year of rat rods. Lots of rat rods parked outside and throughout. But when it happens it happens organically. This year we featured 2 trucks in our booth not knowing it's the year of the trucks. It just happens that way, you hear through the grapevine what someone else is building and it just sort of happens. That's because the OP concentrated on what he liked to see. Hot chicks and cars with wide body kits. There are plenty of show worthy cars that are not stanced out or has tacked on, riveted kits on them. Unfortunately, subtle and understated isn't the goal for any of these cars, so you tend to see cars that are for show, not for go because they're parked there for a week. But if you take the time to walk the halls, there are plenty of cars that are done up and done up right. You just have to sort through all the noise to get there. And know what you're looking for and who you want to talk to. There are plenty of vendors that has understated cars or really cool displays. Like Factory Five...Except they didn't bring an 818C which I was interested in. Or any of the big suspension companies (H&R, KW). There's a couple of really nicely done cars in the B&M/Hurst/Flowmaster booth too. It truly is the greatest car show on earth. If you're an auto enthusiast (of any kind) and have never been to one, you're missing out.
