For the past few weeks with the warmer weather, car has been running fine. This past weekend I drove out to Cleveland. It was in the 30s one morning and sure enough, first cold start of that morning, very rough and stumbling idle. No codes....

It may not be the walnut blast after all !!!
I went thru the same problem for months tried everything did walnut blasting my self smoothed out the idle but didn't solve the problem then i tried spark plugs and coil packs also did nothing I even replaced my injectors and the problem still persisted the only thing left was the Vanos Solenoids !! they were the culprit change the intake and exhaust solenoid together and it solves the problem totally and its an easier repair than than everything else Ive done to slove the problem space is limited but with the right pick tools it is easy work.

O2 sensors fixed the idle issue for me, cold start would drop and idle at 500 rpm's at all times. Replaced the O2's and it went back to normal. Not saying that's your fix, but you may want to take a look at it

Cold weather is back...rough idle and some stalling is back. Im at least getting some codes now. Codes point to valvetronic motor. Hopefully its just the motor that needs to be replaced and not the eccentric shaft as well.
