Just had my F10 535i flashed by Alex today with their stage one tune. The car now pulls so much stronger in the mid range then when the car was on JB4 stage one pnp that I had awhile back. Will let the ecu adapt for a couple of days before putting the car on the Dyno to see how much power it is making. I opted for the m boot option as well for future convenience.

Alex will hate me for this, but if you want a quicker jump off the line get a sprint booster and put it in red mode. Since you have the m-boot you can experiment with throttle mapping. Alex can make your throttle very aggressive. I like to be able to toggle on the fly so the SB works for me. Actually I had him increase throttle sensitivity and now I can have the throttle plate open instantly if I need. Instance throttle blips on my manual like its hooked up to a cable.

I think the throttle response with the standard stage one flash is already more then enough for me lol. My car is a 2011 535i 8 speed, so it has the comfort, normal, sport, sport+ throttle settings. The sensitivity of the new remapped comfort mode feels somewhere between the lines of the old sport and normal modes and I find myself using this mode more often now. I am starting to get the infamous high pitched humming/moaning noise coming from the left side of the engine bay at idle when the engine is fully warmed up close to 250 Fahrenheit. Not sure if this is a result of a faulty waste gate solenoid like many n55 e9x 335i owners have experienced over on e90post.

So wait...will the hp be different on a manual than the 8 speed auto? And 2nd, who's got a DIY for removing the ECU? I don't have the sport mode like you guys do so I'm wondering if that will make a difference?

Get the F out, wow. Taking the manifold off to get to ECU? There is no way I'll be doing that in my condo parking lot.
I guess this will have to wait for longer than I thought. |

For those of you thinking of pulling the trigger on this tune, I also recommend getting the p3 multi vent gauge so you can monitor your boost levels along with other temperatures readings for your car.

If you think about stage 2 jb4 you have to tap factory wires. Taking the manifold seems daunting, but it's actually not that hard.

Ill check out the YouTube video and go from there. I'm thinking back in my Honda/Acura days where you just pull up the front carpet and bam...the ECU!

I am not going to the dyno as I am away for vacation. I find JB4 unnecessary for my usage at the moment. I feel like spending 600+ for one just to monitor some other stuff isn't worth it, my car does have the m-boot flashed, so if I needed any adjustments to the tune, Alex can do it via obd port or remotely.
