Nothing on this LCI really is that exciting IMO.
- LED headlights - nice feature but im not spending 2k getting it. - Not a fan of squared off angel eyes, i like them round. - Turn signals on mirrors - Not important - Tailights look the same - Seem to have 5 slimmer horizontal tube lines like the E60 LCI Interior will not change except for NAV update and new gauges. Looking forward to: - Updated Steering - Better Suspension (Looking at the test mule, it still sits so high - where are the days of perfect stance with sport suspension like the E39 and E60 had ????) - New Engines, more power |

Technology changes and advancements are made all the time. They bundle em up and implement them halfway thru the model year. Makes sense?

The steering and engines, this I look forward how will BMW improved them. Suspension on my F11 is great, but I wanted comfort ride from beginning, thats why I'm so satisfied. |

Tailights are indeed the same, not slimmer (5) or different than current models. Likely they'll stay the same just get darker plastic like what happened for the F01 LCI refresh.

No part of the F10 looks dated in Msport trim. I can see how the normal 5 does look a bit boring but still far from looking dated.

E60 LCI models are as attractive and timeless looking as E39 LCI models. They're clean and sharp; tailored. The F10 is no doubt a beautiful and muscular car, but BMW's design language is taking on an American rounded muscle design as opposed to the timelessly European, chiseled, "shaped from a block of granite" design from before. |

Let me bring some real insider news(don't ask me where I got it and who I am but you will see).
Start 2nd half of next year, N55/N55HP will be replaced by an newer version of N55, power goes up ~10-15% and wil start with F32, F10 LCI and F15 X5(Sorry, no current F30 sedan), then all cars with N series L6 Turbo in the next 2-3 yrs(includes F30 LCI). This will reduce the SKU and hence lower the overall cost. The all new N series L6 turbo engine under R&D now is coded N58, displacement very likely stays the same but while its N55 predecessor uses a single twin scroll turbocharger, the N58 is going back with twin-turbochargers again however with one twin scroll turbocharger and the other one is not! Power target is 370-400hp range. It's going to hit the market between 2016-2018(2016 the earliest), which is the perfect timing for all new 5/X3 series, F32 LCI, F15 LCI, etc... V8 engine will stay pretty much the same, which is the current N63tu, it will replace all N63 next year, though will also get minor tune here and there and goes to 500hp club in the next 3-4 yrs. Currently not sure if displacement will stay the same after 2-3 yrs but as far as technology is not going to be any major changes. There is also a diesel engine coded N59 under R&D but I am not a fan of diesel so not even want to bother... Last edited by iceman335; 10-18-2012 at 06:06 PM.. |

the F10 is growing more and more on me every day, even when I see another non-msport passing by, I always thought they looked great The E60 is the ugliest piece of crap BMW has ever created |

I do think the M-sport wheels should be changed. None of them quite do it for me. |

BMW do not extensive re-profile M cars in the LCi phase because it adds time and more money. The functional aerodynamics are extensively developed and to re-profile them to accomodate extensive changes would mean starting from scratch.
The M5 LCi will feature the cosmetic aspects such as LED lights etc but the car is virtually unchanged. Previous M car facelifts such as the E46 M3 and E92 M3 were left untouched because of the work taken to reprofile the front ends of the car would mean changing the aerodynamics to suit the more upright facia.

LOL! The car stands out on the streets especially with the msport package...Even with the car going into its 3rd year it still looks like a new model.

Ditto for the new character line appearing between the upper part of the kidney grilles and the area right above the headlights, which should give the headlight/grille area a more aggressive look?

Did the E92 M3 receive the same update as the standard E92?
