technically, I didn't buy it. A family member did... in order to earn miles, split between 3 different airline credit cards. ended up making about $7,000 due to the price of gold going up at time.

Later in the week, it was examined and tested by two gold dealers and found to be exactly what it was... well... gold.

I didn't even know that gold dealers used x-ray machines to test for gold.
