Guys I really appreciate all the input. It's tough to sort through a lot of the minutiae on this website. The only discrepancy on this car is that it's a 2013, that's it honestly. It has every feature and then some it seems. I'll do some digging on how much I'll regret not buying a LCI 2014 or 2015. I have the money for a newer one and I really don't need to settle so there's that...🤔

So just to make sure I'm clear.... if it does have NBT that 2013 is as good as a 2014 when it comes to idrive, but lacks the LCI updates or whatever? Sorry for being naive but I haven't looked it up yet. This German jargon is overly complicated...

So I did some digging and rereading this long thread..
The 2014 LCI mid model refresh was fairly substantial and I've determined I'll wait it out for a 2014+ based on the features added in the article below. A refresh mid cycle is when all the tweaks come in to play, and I want those tweaks. No settling 😁 https://f10.5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=842217 |

In case you're bored and want to look at another one, this dealer is willing to go down to $25,200 which is about 500 - $800 under good retail on Blue Book. So as good as you're going to get. It was traded in and sold as certified pre-owned at the 40,000 mile mark, so that's reassuring. It's essentially the same deal as the 2013 if you consider the average of $2,000 of depreciation per year.
2015 M sport. Built in February of 2015 so a late bloomer head-up display Comfort Seats of course Napa leather LED fog lights, Harman Kardon speakers. Here are several more pics the dealer sales guy took . looks clean with minimal wear on the driver seat and that's about it. I'm sure the Nappa is going to reflect a little bit more than Dakota.

Not necessarily. A lease, sure; warranty extension? Not so much. Pretty much the only thing maintenance wise that would void a warranty is oil changes. That said, IMHO someone caring enough to purchase a CPO car probably takes care of said car. If the car sold a month or so after the production date (2/15) the CPO should be good until 3/20. CPO adds a year with no mileage restriction.

My understanding is that BMW CPO terms changed around 2015 so that CPO coverage can only be transferred to a new owner through a BMW dealer resale, not owner-to-owner or by a non-BMW dealer.

Patience I say patience!
I think I'll pass on that one above since I kind of want some safety features seeing how I have a newborn and toddler... Blind spot etc. Something with lane change warning I think. Last edited by WoodButcher1980; 06-29-2019 at 07:35 AM.. |

I understand safety as far as air bags, etc. But you knew how to drive properly prior to a newborn, yes? Just a thought, not trying to bash but IMO some "safety" features can be as much of a distraction as a phone

I can agree with that to some degree. I've read dozens and dozens of posts on this forum and most people agree that basic safety features like blind-spot detection and front Collision warning/mitigation should be standard, not optional. These specific features are not distracting and they have been proven to save lives. I'll leave it at that...and whether they are important to you or not. But it is frustrating trying to find a 70k BMW with something as basic as blind-spot detection when you can find that on a 2012 Ford Festiva.

I found one about 6 hours from me that has every single thing on my bucket list except mocha interior and adaptive cruise...so I can live with that.
The catch is that it has 74,000 miles on it. The good news is it's a 2016 so it was probably owned by some traveling sales guy and all freeway miles which is better than stop and go in the city. I am being emailed the complete service history since the BMW dealership selling it sold it originally and it's a one owner vehicle. It's got brand new tires on it and the brakes are at 75%, more specifically 8mm and 10mm on the pads. I have the sales guy take photos of all four rims and they are in great shape. He said he really didn't see any scratches either. Honestly my only hesitation is the mileage but in theory highway miles are much better on a car than City driving, so the miles don't tell the whole story. Should this be a concern? FYI Kelley Blue Book on this is $29,000 retail and about $26,000 private party so it's a good deal either way. 2016 m sport 74400 miles Carbon black ( a lot of people love this color but they say it's hard to keep clean) Premium pkg Cold weather pkg Driver assistant Driver assistant plus Heated AND cooled seats Comfort Seats Harmon kardon speakers Led fog lights https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/link/239495530 https://www.mdecoder.com/decode/g252394 |

I LOVE my Carbon Black 535 though it does seem to attract dust. I use Lucas Oil Slick Mist Speed Wax as a detailer and it seems to help with the dust. |
