Alright, looks like my car has been released to carrier today (7/14). From what I've read in this thread, it looks like it will take any 25-30 days before it arrives in California. Is my assumption correct?

Between VPC and Dealer?
My car shows at the VPC on the OC and 800, does anyone know if the message changes on the 800 number during the time it is in transit to the dealer or is it one moment at the VPC and the next at the dealer? THANKS!

I got my car last Friday. On Sunday, OC was saying my car was at VPC and 800# was saying in transit. Only your dealer can tell you EXACTLY where your car is. The OC and 800# are not very accurate. Hope this helps.

330iBMWguy: Thanks for the info. I was afraid of that. I'm traveling this week so I got an email late today from the dealer saying it should be ready for delivery next week. I will miss calling the 800 number and it will be months before I finally forget the production number.

I've been tracking mine using the 1-800 number...
At first it was "your vehicle is at the port awaiting a shipping vessel." Then for the past two weeks it's been "you vehicle is in transit"... now it's "your vehicle is at the port awaiting a shipping vessel"... What happened? Did my ship bust a U-turn? Has this happened to anyone else? My dealer said I'd be driving it by the end of the month! I'm hoping this is just a computer glitch.

This thread is very cool, and has lots of very useful information. My vehicle is now in transit on vessel Undine, bound for the VPC in Charleston SC. I've heard horror stories of cars staying in VPC for up to two weeks. Anybody know what the typical time from unloading off the vessel to delivery to the Houston area for a car coming through Charleston?
I don't want to seem anxious to get my car (although true), but I'm trying to make sure I have it available for a trip in the latter part of August. Thanks |

Long Waiting
I am really amazed with half of the stories I am reading here, well I guess I am a very unlucky guy because I am in germany , Ordered my BMW 325i last week july 16 and the car is not going to be here until november. I have been trying to find out why and the answer is because of the amount of orders they have. Do you guys think this is a little long waiting ?

Mine is on the Ingolstadt - Wilmington Shipping Co. and is now coming into Chas. a day early according to the Port of Chas. shipping site - Sunday the 24th. This definitely increases my chances of a pickup for next weekend.

Wildcat Jon... Hope yours get to Cinci soon...
Here is the timing/oc/1-800 messages that were available as it worked its way here. Mine was on the JINGU MARU that docked in NY on 7/9. It was loaded on a truck from the Prep Center on Thursday 7/21. Was delivered to the dealer on Friday 7/22. 1-800 changed from waiting on a shipping vessel to in transit on Thursday 7/21. OC still says at Prep center today 7/22. 1-800 still says in transit. Looks like the 1-800 number will let you know when it is loaded on a truck with some degree of accuracy. Hope I can take it home soon. Good Luck to everyone waiting. 2006 325i | Alpine White | Black Dakota w/ Poplar | Auto | Heated Seats | Premium | Xenon |

If yours was del. to the dealer on Friday, why aren't you picking it up today? I'd be calling. Did you buy through Sweeney or the BMW Store?
