^^Sweet!!
Glad this works for the 528 as well. I just love how the car feels with the bar installed. Just feels tighter and high speed driving is improved tremendously.

I'm all for a group buy on both sets, just the front...whatever you guys want. I'm still waiting for the rear bar and hope to have it within the week. Needed to ship from Germany, so usually takes a couple weeks.

Joe,
Please count me in for the front only or both if the rear, you are waiting on, turns out to fit too. Thanks for all the time, work and expense in vetting this out for everyone. Andy

Has anyone measured the diameter of the M5 front sway bar and the diameter of their stock sway? I am thinking that based on the number of part numbers shown on realoem .com there are many different front sways? Maybe someone that has changed their stock front sway might be able to sell it as an upgrade to other owners.

That's not bad, for some reason my 2011 sport package F10 rear bar is only 13mm. When I bought the car the SA told me that the Sport PKG and the M-Sport PKG shared the same suspension and that the difference was only the body kit and the dynamic handling. I guess that he didn't know crap about the car.

I think mine is 15mm because it has ddc and its xdrive. Hopefully Joe@ptech will figure out a rear solution soon.

Will you be willing to sell your OEM sway bar set once you upgrade your rear bar as someone else suggested?

I had the standard ZSP Sport Package front anti sway bar, measured at 23mm diameter replaced, yesterday, with the considerably stouter M5 one on my 2011 535i. This was done on a lift by a local BMW trained technician who works on BMWs & MINIs, exclusively, in his own shop. I'm glad I had him do it with his looking up propper bolt tightening torque values (quite tight) on a subscribed BMW website. He also installed a set of mud guards on the vehicle. The bar install took about a half hour's time.
Without having done any other suspension modification to the vehicle, this modification has greatly enhanced its handling and I highly recommend this relatively inexpensive modification under the classification of a "No-brainer." I await direction as to which rear anti sway bar upgrade to install, the standard one looking little more than the diameter of a pencil. It looks like the replacement of the rear bar will require exhaust removal. Last edited by 535iNM; 04-06-2013 at 08:46 AM.. |

We've test fitted a couple rear bars that didn't work, but were able to do so without removing the exhaust. It isn't as straight forward as the front bar, but still a 45-60 minute job tops.
We should have our third and hopefully final bar any day now. And as stated, we are happy to put together a group buy on both bars for those interested. |
