Wow - thanks a bunch for this. Pardon my ignorance, but what does "EPS" stand for?

BAM! Now that is GOOD stuff, thanks for posting your invoice, what more could one ask for but a BMW invoice showing the corrective action, I almost want my 550 to pull to the right so I can walk into the service department here in Germany with that!

That invoice is the bomb, I should get my car from ED around the 2nd week of October, so I have evidence of how to fix the issue, I noticed the pull almost immediately after picking up the 550 from the Welt, I had the same issue with my E60 550i (AS, Sport) but could never get SF BMW to fix it, this is so sweet.

Right Pull seems solved on mine
I picked up my car yesterday and drove it about 125mi and I can no longer feel the right pull. It still tends to drift right but in the traditional way I have seen in previous BMW's - just tends more right than left. I may now just be over sensitive after the long frustrating grind to finally get to this point. They were following the same procedures as shown on the posted repair invoice but in my case the problem was solved after compressing the strut springs and rotating 10mm left. Road testing at that point indicated that they had fixed the problem and I agree - at least so far. They also replaced the fuel level sensor while it was in the shop. I hope that's it for me.

Have the same drifting problem as well and going to take this invoice to the dealer on Monday. About the rubbing/friction noise on slow turns, could you be more specific about that? I seem to get the same problem but only notice the sound in the morning when I first start the car and head out to go to work. After the first/second turn I don't hear the sound anymore. Doesn't sound like the abs check either unless something is messed up. |

Dropped off my car at JMK this morning and the guy made a copy of the service invoice and attached it to the work order so hopefully everything will go smoothly. Also got a 2011 335xi as a loaner which is nice. I also had the rubbing noise on turns as well that was mentioned on the service invoice, anyone else have the same problem? Well, my car has been fixed...but I still feel as though it pulls slightly to the right. It is SIGNIFICANTLY better, but it still pulls. I realize the crown in the road may be a bit of a factor at this point, but I test drove my car for about 30 minutes after it was fixed. I tested it at different speeds...I made sure to test it on roads that seem to veer to the left...I tried everything I could think of. It now usually takes up to 20 or 30 seconds before it starts to pull to the right. That's not normal right? This is my first Bimmer...so is it something I need to get used to? I'm at a loss. I will call the service manager tomorrow to discuss it with him.

This morning it seemed to instantly 'drift' to the right. It wasn't so much a sharp pull like it was doing...but more of a drift. I'm going to have a 3rd party drive it to see if they experience the same thing. The service manager also said he will drive it with me...but of course he's going to tell me it's normal.
I just don't want to settle. If it truly is normal, then I'm okay with it, but I want to be sure. |

I contacted my local dealer (Northern Virginia). I asked if they heard about this problem and the "fix". No, it was road crowning. . They asked for my VIN, and they did a search of factory prescribed fixes and the software upgrade mentioned elsewhere in this post did not come up as being available for my 535i. They knew nothing of the software fix or the 10 mm adjustment.

Forgot to post, got my car back a couple days back and I don't notice the pull anymore but I'm gonna have to drive it more on smoother roads to be sure.
No software update, just got the 10mm adjustment. From what the service guy said, there is a bulletin out there telling them how to adjust the strut. Still get the rubbing noise on slow turns on cold start ups, they couldn't find anything that could be causing it. |

Hi guys;
I have just talked with my dealer. Ask him this problem. He said that they know the problem. And also BMW germany is aware of this issue. It is a software problem.He said that they solved this problem. They connect the car to the GERMANY and install a new software that solves this problem he. I am so happy to hear this news. I will get my car next weak |

My car is officially fixed. I realized that even though my car still drifts slightly to the right...that's normal. I test drove other comparable cars last night and most had the same issue. So, I'm a happy camper now. Case closed for me on this issue...and it's time to just enjoy the car! Thanks to everyone for contributing as I feel that this forum has made quite the impact on this particular issue...even though some dealers thought it was some B.S. internet chatter!
