This is awesome! Picking up a 2012 550i with Dinan S2 on it next week and can't wait to dyno and track it!

That's what I've been seeing so I'm considering a different tune + more work as I would love to get it to the 11s and would really like a sub 4. 0-60. Not sure if that's possible but I can hope lol

with proper set up everything is possible... it all depends how much you got to spend

My Dinan Stage 2 did 12.7 at 112 with a 2.1 60ft. If I could get my 60ft anywhere near Black's I'd be in the low 12.3-12.5 range. But that won't happen unless I get slicks.

The cool thing about the bms is you can manually play with it, like badblack with his 109 octane.

dinan, you just flash and go and thats it.

Unless they have some sort of race tune, not sure though.

But to Brewers defense, you can't compare dinan to bms when the bms record holder is runing 109 .. lol

Scott even had a mix I believe, only one who went with normal gas is arch. and he still trapped 114 right?

race gas allows for higher boost i set 11.9 record on 93 ostane boost when i went up in boost only traps went up by a mile the 1/4 speed did not increase same for scott. We ran MS109 which is 101 octane not 109.

+1. Awesome about BMS is b/c it's a piggyback, the car adapts to gas and piggyback setting changes very well.

Don't think Dinan has a race tune, but they should.

Regarding gas mixes we had:

Here is the breakdown of gas we were running:

BadBlack: part 100 octane pump (Sunoco 260 GT which is 95 motor octane or R+M/2=100) and part MS109 (VP Fuels which is 100 motor octane or R+M/2=105)

Me: part 93 pump and part MS109 (even mix)

Arch: part 93 pump, part 100 pump, part MS109 (i don't know the exact mix)

All of us were running on the recommended race gas settings, Arch w/ dial on 60 and Sergey and I with boost upped 1-1.5 PSI over base.

Exactly, Higher octane, higher boost, better 1/4 mile run.

Thats the advantage running a bms vs flashs.

You can control your boost, like a boost controller.

Nice. Glad you keep track of this. How does the car perform with 93+ octane booster? What are your best runs on 93 octane one or 93+ the octane booster formula?

We didn't run octane booster. We ran a mix of higher octane unleaded 'race' gas. The 100 Octane sunoco is considered street legal, the MS109 is technically not.

None of us ran that day on pump only gas, although my first runs were on the pump only boost setting. Then I raised the boost and my MPH got faster but my ET were basically the same.

See the attached time slip. This was my first run at the track when the car was set at the default (40) dial setting. The mixture of gas I had in the car really did not do anything until I changed the dial to 60. (see previous posting)

So a 2014 550xi with just a BMS stage 1 with premium octane will yield these result. 12.3 @ 112MPH

Cool Arch, I would cry if my car MPH was 112. lol

Im making a few more attempts with exhaust and some other cool things I have going on next week. If I can't get to 500+rwhp im giving my car to my mom and getting a m5.

Final answer.

If you can get one right now, why not just get one. If I could I know I would (thanks wedding in 60 days). Stock well trumps 500rwhp if that's your goal. You'll hit 620ish if you want.
