Sunny and cool for the next week. Forecasted to be in the 60s. The rain is gone for now. Glad we had it. Rained for a couple of weeks. Probably didn't make much of a dent in our California drought, though. Hope we get more.

Our current situation. This is easily the coldest temperature sobre that Blizzard a year ago that crippled the power grid here. 🥶
Keep in mind that 24 hours ago it was nearly 70.

By the way... Does anyone up north know what this is?

It looks like it's some kind of insulated cover for a hose bib. Up here in the frozen north

we use these. They're frost free hose bibs. The actual valve is at the opposite end from the handle so it is way inside the wall and won't freeze.

Office bldg heater is broken, 58 when we arrived this morning. Bordering on evacuating the building, although the servers LOVE 58. Actually, I'm expecting I need to do a bunch of work in the server room, it's currently still stationary at 68.

My brother lives near DC and said this tie-up occurred right where the highway goes to two lanes for normal traffic and two for the Express toll lanes. VA didn't open the toll lanes for the storm, which was idiotic. So all those folks who were stuck for hours were in the normal lanes while the toll lanes were empty. But what a horror show.

Our temp here is up to 26F, and light snow/sleet just started falling. We somehow missed out on the precipitation up until now.....
