Damn Mark you are in Asia now?
Been a bad month for the car. Got a nice ding/dent on my door from someones shopping cart and i managed to curb my stock 351 wheel just before. I haven't curbed a wheel in like 10+ years and of course all this happens within the last week. Going to drop the car off at MAC to get it all sorted out plus get some other work done. You got a M now? Nice! Alan

You must be bored of all the praise, but I have to throw in my two cents also...nice mod work!
One question about the front bumper's lower mesh areas; are the mesh pieces painted a gloss or semi-gloss black? They look shiny, but not quite as shiny as the sport grilles. I like the look and am curious about whether it's paint, or just a good wash and wax. Thank You! |

Alan, very nice clean ride. Definitely a neck break. When you dropped your car with the ACS springs, how much of a drop was it on the front and rear. Also with you installing rims, did it make your car look even lower or same height? Last question, how's the alignment issue? Any wear or tear or is there an aftermarket camber kit?
Thanks

Thanks guys
The lower mesh area is stock. I'm just ocd when it comes to my car so it just looks glossy from being squeaky clean lol. The ACS springs dropped the car approx 1" both front and back. Its a noticable change as you could see in one of my pics where the car wasn't dropped yet. Wheels didn't really change how low or high the car looks. I have on my stock msport wheels now for the winter and the car just looks like a sports package car should look like. No issue with alignment at all. Honestly i didn't even get it done after the spring install because of all the concerns about how some people having issues with the car pulling to one side. My car didn't pull at all so didn't want to mess with it. Plus its only a 1" drop so its not that big a difference. Alan

Me too. I've got a 550xi msport on hold at my dealer. The car is perfect for me except no nappa. I have a dog and she doesn't get along with nappa. I tried explaining to her how much I love black nappa leather but she doesn't seem to get it :-(
Alan - your car is stunning. Did Alex install that exhaust? It's perfect. I wish BMW used such strict tolerances lol Did i mention how much i like Nappa? It's far and away the best bang for the buck of any single option. I would trade the entire stupid "executive package" for black nappa. Oh, well. Alan - One (two) more question(s) and I'll quit bothering you:
where did you have Wincos installed? (and approx how much? ((i hope i'm not being to forward!)). I have a good feeling that where you go is the best... Last edited by mryakanisachoad; 01-24-2013 at 04:13 AM.. |

Hey thanks for the compliments!
I love Nappa. It really gives the interior a 7 series look and feel with it. Def. more maintenance and less durable but it just looks so rich. I had my exhaust done at a friends shop out in LI called forced fed engineering. Not a looker of a place but those guys do all types of metal fabrications so installing my exhaust was simple for them. I drove my car straight from the dealer to the shop lol For the tint contact Lee Berbs - http://www.facebook.com/leeberbs Me and my friends have been using him for years and he does exceptional work. Really nice guy too. Alan

Hey Allan,
Cancelled the black. Decided on the space grey. Just came back from the dealership from a look. Beauty. Your pictures definitely helped seal the deal as well, so thanks. Ordered up a front lip. I'm curious. The sound difference on your supersprint vs stock. I'd upgrade this, but my last exhaust upgrade experiment produced a very noticeable drone at a certain rpm that was annoying. You happy with this upgrade? Quiet enough on the highway, but nice sounding on the way up in rpms? I really don't want super loud annoying.... |

^^ Glad i could help
Space grey has always been one of my favorite colors from BMW. Such a beautiful color. Surprisingly SG is a rare color here in Msport trim. 95% of the Msports around me are white and the others are black. As for the exhaust if you like it quiet and don't like drone i wouldn't get it. I think every exhaust for the N55 drones a bit. I know mine does at a very specific rpm range and I get around it by driving in sport mode all the time so that it keeps the revs above that point. A good alternative is to get the Bmw performance 550 style tips for your 535 so you have somewhat that quad look without any increase of noise. Alan

Never timed it but the JB was a significant upgrade to the cars acceleration. Def. worth the sub $600 price tag.

Nice. He's going to be my tint guy as long as he's around. He's very meticulous at his work and like i said a very cool guy to just chat with while you are waiting.
