First ride of the year, ok. I keep forgetting how late the sun comes up at this time of year so I don't have as much time to ride. A lot more people on the path than I usually see.

Was able to get out for a quick spin on my new gravel bike. Low power and slow, but riding outside in January doesn't happen often in Nebraska.

This was a ride I did back in October that I was really proud of. Really really good average power and speed for me, given the distance and time. I did the same loop a week prior on my gravel bike and averaged 17.5 mi/h and 183w.

Those are pretty nice power numbers. What's your FTP? Around 280?

Yep - I think it was around 282 at that time. It got up to 291w last summer before I took some time off with daylight savings and winter rolling in. That's the highest my FTP has ever been.

We've been in the mid-60s the last two days here, normally we have snow on the ground this time of year. I got my new one piece bar/stem mounted on my gravel bike and took it for a couple of rides outdoors. Can't complain for February.

Congrats on the rides! Lots of melting around me. Snow and ice in the shaded areas, and mud in many areas. March is still a cold, and sometimes snowy, month here.

I ran for the first time (up north) this year and it felt great. When running I can hop around and avoid snow, mud and large puddles, which is harder to do on the bike.

I was out riding this past weekend on one of the nicer days and ran across some snow and slush in a shady area. Had a lurid slide that spooked me for a bit, but managed to stay upright. I avoided that area on the return trip. The snow is gone now, but any road that is partial dirt is a muddy mess, so I'm sticking to the roads I know are clean.

No snow here but rain and super windy so I haven't gone out. I only go out on Sundays so I'm limited to that.

It's 50F here today, which is my lower limit for riding outside, but the winds are up to 21MPH, so I think I'll stick to an inside ride today.

Almost 70F here today, but seriously windy. Still, it was worth fighting the wind to get in a ride. 22 miles today.

Time crunched today, so a short ride. Ran across a friend going the opposite way, so we stopped and chatted for a bit, which limited my ride more. But it was worth it to catch up a bit.
