Installed a slightly different double slat style today. Slightly more angular, and gloss instead of matte. Not sure if I'm sold on the gloss yet - the matte kind of matched the rest of the grille material. Thoughts? Ignore the one on the passenger side being popped out slightly, was testing something else out. Wasn't installed fully.

First pic is before (matte), second pic is after (gloss)

I fudged with it a bit, and it's better, but still not flush. I think I have more space between the tweeter and the door panel than your pics, so nothing to push up from below. It's fine though.

I like the gloss BTW, that's what I have. I think the angular look is fine, although the rounder curve is good as well. Basically you can't go wrong!

Kind of fun to have an upgrade named after me haha
I got mine delivered yesterday as well! The driver side fit like a glove, the passenger side took a bit more goofing around and still isn't sitting quite perfectly on the inner side of the speaker. I'm assuming the tweeter cover can be pulled off with a simple plastic trim tool? Not a HUGE issue, but if I can make it sit just right that'd be the icing on the cake. For the $6CAD that I spent, I'm not at all bitching. For such a minor little thing, it really adds that finishing touch to the interior.

Also, the gloss looks far, far better IMO.

You need to peel back a little bit of the plastic covering along the door, and then yes the tweeter cover can be pretty easily popped out. Putting it back in is a bit finnicky, but just be patient and don't force it and you'll figure it out. Take a picture BEFORE removing anything for future reference (or just look at the other door)

Fidling with ET what to run on those 21" styling 312's.

10" et36 rear and 8,5" et15 at front seems nice.

Technically did it a month ago, but here's the Bavarian Autosport Viton "high performance" gasket after ~3 years and 20k miles. Next to it is a genuine BMW heat exchanger gasket, which lives right next to the OFHG and thus subject to similar conditions.

The BMW one is still pristine and didn't leak. The Bavarian Autosport one started seeping already, and looked gnarly as hell. I'm unsure if this was a fluke, but definitely not worth for $30 for me.

New genuine OFHG for comparison as well.

Dinan cat-back exhaust installed today. What a perfect note- it’s subtle and just a beautiful noise. I’m pleased.

Tomorrow, there are more Dinan goodies on the schedule.

Today I installed a Future Classic aluminum oil filter cap. It is listed for the S63 and “fits most N63 configurations.” It fit my 2011 N63. Just pull the filter cage out of the OEM filter cap, and reinstall in the FC cap, aligning the male and female clips. Love it! I’m excited for the next oil change so I can drain the filter housing before I remove the filter.

Got wheels that I ordered for my e65. I tested it on f10 and they look pretty good. Might end putting them on for f10.

Today was a lonnnnng day, but I installed Dinan intakes and intercoolers, new turbo coolant hoses, and fixed the broken PCV lines. Now that I have everything assembled, I’m wishing I had thrown on turbos and DPs while I was in there.

+1 to the "Unspec Upgrade"! - One of my all time favorites that I would have never considered had he not posted. Thank You. Still haven't ordered mine yet but it's "on the list".

+1 to gloss all the way.
