seems like valvetronic issue. help
Hello please help me. I have a 2011 535i n55 and I am getting a bunch of short to ground codes and main ones are 135401-Engine ECU Internal Fault, Valvetronic Output Stage Overloaded and
135808- Valvetronic Actuator, Position Sensor Short To Ground Or 0pen Circuit Also code 135908- Valvetronic Actuator, Position Sensor Supply Voltage Defective. Changed Dme and codes still popped up right away. I noticed when I unplugged the valvetronic actuator, the clicking sound at start up goes away and codes disappear when I clear it. Please let me know what I should do. Symptoms I’m getting is power reduction and traction control light on with a malfunction. |

I know on an older inline 6 BMW I had, can’t temper the engine code, the valvetronic actuator was having issues causing rough idle and random stalling until warmed up. The way to check it was to unplug the actuator and see if it ran fine, which it did.
Not saying for sure that it’s the valvetronic actuator in your case, but in my opinion I’d start there based on your symptoms and codes. |
